Belkin Makes Good Products
Belkin Makes Good ProductsI returned this item for the following reasons:1 -- It was not compatible with the Belkin KVMs that I have. It's only compatible with the following:F1DA104ZF1DA108ZF1DA116ZF1DA108QF1DA116QI imagine that the ones we have are older2 -- I wasn't concerned about the KVM that comes with this. I wanted the keyboard and monitor. However, you CANNOT use them without the KVM. I called Belkin and after going round and round with them I finally got the answer that you cannot do that..The company that sells they socked me with a 15% restocking fee even though I only had the item one day and I returned in mint condition.I'm sure that it's part of their return policy that Amazon likes to hid somewhere that you can never find... BOOOI'm not sure it's a good idea to get a keyboard - monitor - KVM all combined. If any one of those goes out then the whole thing is useless. If you do order this item you'll need the cables that go with it. It's not the VGA, PS2 or USB cables. You'll need the following:F1D9401 - VGA - USBF1D9400 - VGA - PS2There's one cable for two computers. The port on the back of the KVM is looks kind of like a parallel port and two cables come out of it and these go to two different computers (1 and 2 or 3 and 4 ....)

Check/Reseat ALL connections when you get this.
bought for the office. Works well. now. but at first, I thought was DOA. Would've missed the return window, since we had to wait for an adequate maintenance window to install. In any event, to correct the issue, I had to disconnect the KVM side from the Monitor. Not hard, there aretwo screws on the back holding it in the frame. remove the screws, and unseat. Then reseat the unit. Worked for me, although it should not have been necessary. don't forget to replace the capture screws. Also, initially, the keyboard/monitor did NOT want to pull out. checked and re-checked for any packaging components I may have missed. Nothing. In the end, I had to remove the unit from the rack and use a little light rubber mallet persuasion to coax it loose. It slid in and out just fine after, and since. As I think about it now, the 'loose' connection between the KVMswitch and the KVM screen/keyboard 'could' have been caused by either a) the same in-transit bump that jammed the keyboard INto to slide, preventing it from coming out; OR 2) my rubber mallet persuasion. hard to say at this time. Moral of the story Check ALL the connectionons and functioning upon arrival, even if you can't immediately deploy the unit

Works great for our purpose.
This is a direct replacement for the same model. We have had it for several years, running 24x7 with 5 servers connected no issues. Just needed the same model until we upgrade to latest models.

Very nice, buy cables
I bought this unit for a rack that was provided by another company, and HP unit. This is a very well made console. The screen fills the entire width, which is nice and a lot larger than my older units. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it doesn't include any KVM cables for the built in KVM switch. Amazon sells them, and maybe I was in too big a hurry, but I didn't see it listed anywhere that you needed to buy your own cables. Anyway, all is well that ends well, as amazon has both the PS/2 and USB models in stock for next day shipping. I highly recommend this unit, as it is very nice and very competitively priced.

Unreliable
This product seemed good at first. We had one set of cables that would not work. This is attached to 5 servers in a rack cabinet. We have several keys that quit working. The monitor began to develop lines in the screen after about 12 months - now getting very dim after 18 months of use (unusable). We are able to work around the keyboard issue by plugging in a keyboard to the server we need to type on but when the monitor is going out and we have no space in the rack it is time to get fast track to replace. The keys started acting up after about 10 months of use. We finally got around to calling it in to Belkin business support in September of 2013. After going through proof of purchase and a bunch of troubleshooting they agreed to replace. Skip ahead to December 2013. I called to check the status and they said they had updated their support system and my case number was no longer in the system. I am currently on hold with belkin (40 minutes so far) and they say they are going to replace. . . I will update if i get another. Just found out I have to pay return shipping. Poor communication at Belkin tech support.

Nice setup and design
Nice setup and design; however, the keyboard/monitor part of the console slides out of the rack. The hardware tubing designed to protect the cables within the sliding mechanism (conduit that protects/shields the cables) does not protect the cables adequately creating friction with the cables and quickly eroding the cables. In our experience, in less than month, the screen view went from color to purple.

Big bang for the bucks!
Works great and certainly cleaned up my server rack. The dual port cabling system definitely helps reduce cable clutter and makes cable management easier. Solidly built, easy to mount, and glides in and out of the rack smoothly. Very glad I went with the 19 inch display. Shipped very fast, arrived in perfect condition and works great. Lowest price too. A great KVM,will be purchasing two more in the near future.

Not well built
I ordered 1 of these units, the first one was damaged, but the box was fine so it was damaged before being packed. The replacement had screws rolling around in the box and when mounted the sliding arm worked once and then brokeIt's good looking product, but not well built and a disappointment compared to other belkin products we have purchased in the past.
