Excellent Value For The Price! It WILL Become Your Go-To EDC Knife.
I own several dozen knives. Folders, fixed, tactical. SOG, CRKT, Kershaw, Gerber, Ka-Bar, Becker, etc. For the money spent on this knife you'll be very hard pressed to find a better value. The first thing I noticed was that for a $28 knife the fit and function was glassy smooth...right out of the box. I've purchased knives (some expensive ones) that have required some "breaking in". Some that were so poor in the beginning that I wondered if they needed to be returned. Not so here. This knife was silky smooth on the very first opening. It has bronze phosphor washers and it really shows. A very light flick on the thumb stud sends it flying open. The best part of this knife by far is the Emerson patented "wave shaped feature" on the blade that opens the knife automatically as you pull it out of your pocket. I'd never used any knife with this feature before and I'm now totally sold on it. Simply pull the knife out of your pocket and the notch catches on the seam of your pocket, safely opening your knife. Amazing! It has (surprisingly) become my favorite EDC and found it's way into my pocket every day. This knife uses 8Cr13MoV steel on the blade. Mine came extremely sharp out of the box. The combination satin grind and bead-blasted blade looks fantastic. The G10 handles are grippy and you won't be dropping this anytime soon. Lockup was solid and firm with no blade movement. Release was easy but firm. OK, I know it's made in China, but it's extremely well made and that also allows you to get the value out of your $28. If you are concerned about the quality of a Chinese-made knife then don't be. The CQC-6K is proof that good knives can be made in China.I liked this knife so much I bought its big brother, the CQC-4KXL. I love that one just as much. It found its way into my work pants pocket.Great Job Kershaw.

Great Knife Highly Recommend!
*UPDATE*After carring around for almost a year now, im very use to this knife I don't worry about accidental deployment as much because it just feels second nature to me. The pocket clip is by far the sturdyest pocket clip on any knife I have carried even pricier knives don't compare.I would deffently recommend!!!Extremely sharp and reliable.I like the thumb disc better than a thumb stud after getting used to it.The knife feels to be better quality than the price tag feels a tad heavy in your hand which can be a good or bad thing given your preference. It has a very sturdy feel. The wave feature is amazing.Need to be a little careful when pulling it from your pocket at the end the day because of accidental deployment. But once, use to wave feature this knife is great.

Kershaw makes high value knives and this is no exception. Great blade.
Great value for a wave opening ermerson colab. I have a lot of knives, some high dollar, some high value. This is a great high value knife for $30-408cr13mov seems to be getting a lot of respect in the knife community for high value knives ($40 and under) It holds a decent edge and is easy to sharpen when it needs it (just keep up with your edge and you'll never have to worry about re-profiling the blade). The spyderco tenacious was my first encounter with 8cr13mov and I love that knife. The blade needs a touch up out of the box, but that's normal with high value knives. The blade itself is beautiful with 2 emerson logos on it and I'm happy with the $30 that I spent on it.I had to go to the specs to see what material the handle was. It says textured g10. If that's the case, it's not my favorite g10. I would have thought it was nylon. The g10 on my benchmade 710 and my 5.11 taran 1 have a way grippier feel. This g10 is a bit slippery. Not trying to be a knife snob, but it's just something I noticed and thought others might want to know. Some jimping on the thumb ramp/wave feature and on the finger choil, should you need to do any serious cutting, which I have done with mine and the liner lock held up just fine. Not sharp jimping, but not weak either. Happy to have it on a knife under $60The pocket clip is reservable and has the sweet Emerson logo on it. Another thing I like is that the screws to get into the knife are just regular screws. No crazy shaped screws that you need to buy a special driver for.. this is something you could take apart with a basic screwdriver set and clean your liners of dust and debris. Thumbs up for that. Overall a beautiful little knife for $30-40 and the wave feature works just as you'd expect. Grab yourself one, you'll love it.
