Arcan Underhoist Support Stand 82 inch span
Unit arrived promptly. Well packed. Easy opening. Easy assembly >10 minutes. Light weight.I had some lithium grease but the bearing came pre lubed. Brushed some onto the threads anyway. Nice rubberized handles. Strong nylonlike saddle.A tree fell and crushed my carport in hurricane Milton last October. Was able to lift the front part with some manpower to help to affix and secure three new poles adequately, but had to have a sturdy, semi permanent method to lift and raise and brace the slightly warped, back half in order to install new 4x4 poles and footers.Minor critique: if the saddle is firmly fixed and there is anything other than a well defined 90 degree angle to lift (as in my case), the foot/base tends to wander a little. I created a nonskid surface to mount ussing four sheets of 40 grit sandpaper face to face against the painted concrete slab and each other.Considering my requirement was outside the intended purpose, i.e. not automotive, this unit did exactly what I needed, and for a fair price. Don't know if this helps other buyers, but it is a good tool.Five stars. Hope this helps.

Easy to modify to use with Maxjax mid rise lift
It arrived completely in tact and in good condition, although the plastic wrap on the screw could have been better applied to keep the small aount of rust it inherited in shipping at bay.I have found supports that I can put under my axle on Amazon that work with the MaxJax if I only want to have it half way up to maximum height but the mid rise lift is short enough already. I wanted a support that I could use at max height on the lift and the shortest of these only just barely work for a few applications at the minimum adjustment setting so it's far from useful that way. There's a trans jack you can modify for use so I looked at all these support stands for one that's easy to modify and this one looked worth trying out.The way it's constructed the 12" base has a threaded boss that there is a short tube that threads in and then the main body of the pole slips inside it and has a pin with a hitch pin that attaches to it. I had planned on cutting the main pole shorter and re drilling it to hold it inside the threaded tube. The adjustment screw on the main body is very long and it means if you want to re-bolt the base you can only shorten it 8-10" at most. However, the main pole is constructed of a thick wall welded seam tube that is not super round, so the manufacturer appears to have turned it down a bit so it has a round profile and slip fit into that threaded in base tube. After cutting it shorter I had to sand down the exterior on my belt sander to git a very tight interference fit that required a good bit of persuasion with a block of wood and sledge hammer to drive home. There is convieniently a lip at the bottom of the base for it to sit snug against. I may plug weld it in through the former pin hole but it's not going anywhere and I can still unscrew the outer tube if I need to take it apart. This method gives you another 5 or 6" if you need to cut it shorter if you want to keep the full screen length and it's sturdier than the original intended assembly method, if you need to go shorter you will have to cut the screw, if you shorten it much take note of the roll pin they have near the end to keep you from screwing it all the way out under load as it's a nice safety feature.

Good quality and works as expected
This makes exhaust and other under hoist jobs so much easier. The bearings help it spin smoothly.

my new favorite tool in the shop, I may need a few more
I never really knew how much I needed to hold things up under cars on the lift. this is fantastic as a safety stand when removing heavy parts of a car and maintaining balance on the 2 post lifts. its also great for holding up parts and making small adjustments to height as you are working, its very stable and smooth operating. I may need another one.

Solid little half-height lift-stand.
Solid. Good quality for the price. Paint finish is better than many china-specials. The height is perfect for my garage lift which only gets car to chest height. Do yourself a favor and clean up the threads and apply new grease before putting into everyday use. I got a lot of leftover metal bits and crap leftover from the machining process. But once that was cleaned out and greased, it is a solid lift-stand. Handles have good leverage and the base is well made.

Stout
Easy to put together. Strong construction. Inner rod is fully threaded unlike those with just 6" of thread. Good value for the money.
