The Sleeper Hit of BOOMco.
While much of the attention for the BOOMco. line seems to have fallen on its flashier brethren (the DartSplosion and Rapid Madness spring to mind), I feel that the Spinsanity 3X may well be the most truly practical creations to come out of Mattel's design studio. This blaster utilizes a motorized flywheel mechanism similar in many ways to those made popular in competing blasters, but scaled for BOOMco.'s proprietary Smart Stick darts. The flywheel motor is activated with a small sub-trigger and powered by 6 "AA" batteries, which make it a bit of a power hog compared to its contemporaries. The "Spinsanity 3X" moniker is taken from this blaster's three revolving cylinders, which each house 10 darts. The cylinders advance automatically with a trigger pull, and are then swapped by pumping the foregrip of the blaster. Interestingly, each cylinder can be completely removed from the rotating carriage assembly, which allows for hot-swapping of extra cylinders (not included) or can simply be used to ease reloading. Performance wise, this blaster is on par with much of its competitors in terms of range and power, but as standard for BOOMco. the accuracy is actually reasonably better, thanks primarily to the superior design of the plastic Smart Stick darts. Taken as a whole, the Spinsanity is a well-rounded blaster with a solid, contemporary design and no-nonsense performance; at Amazon prices, it's a steal for any blaster enthusiast!

This gun looks really cool, but honestly the design is so delicate that it's a miracle to get the thing to actually work consistently. It's simply not fun.So two things to know about this before you buy.1) It requires 6 batteries to actually work despite looking like it's pump action, and the pump action is only used to rotate the dart cylinders. You actually have to press and hold a button to get the motor running and then you "try" to press the trigger. I see the product details indicate it does require batteries but it wasn't clear, to me at least, that it's not a manual fire gun...which I think is more fun.2) To the previous point, you "try" to press the trigger because more often than not the darts are not aligned and it jams. The reason being the rotating cylinders never really line up correctly and it doesn't automatically line up the darts. I would say you're lucky if 1 out of 9 trigger pulls gets a shot off. This is the major design flaw of the gun.Overall we're really disappointed in these (we bought a couple) and so were the kids. It's a really cool looking gun but the design makes this more frustrating than anything. I see a lot of positive reviews from other users. Not sure how many of them actually tried playing with these. Would likely not buy anything from BOOMco again.

Best Christmas present ever - bought 3.
For the price that these are offered for, they are amazing. They could be sold for much more.My husband originally bought one for himself. He likes to shoot it and our 1-year old likes to gather up all the darts. He loves this nerf gun so much that he bought two more for his brother and nephew. They’re going to be a bit hit this Christmas!Things I like - SO MANY DARTS INCLUDED! This is the best feature. It’s kinda a must-have for nerf-gun fights. Also, it’s a very easy gun to use (even my nephew can figure it out). Was this review helpful? If so, please indicate so by clicking “yes” below.

Love that the darts stick to the target
Love that the darts stick to the target. I actually prefer these darts over Nerf. However, they would probably hurt a bit if it hit someone close range. The only bad thing is that the cartridge that holds the darts sometimes gets stuck so it doesn't fire continuously without getting stuck at some point. Still lots of fun for 8 year old (and parents)!

THIS GUN IS VERY GOOD WHEN FIRST BOUGHT BUT IN A FEW DAYS IS BAD
i don't like it , it doesn't fire that well and the darts need to be evenly in for it to fire. the box says it is automatic but it is only semi-automatic and you need 6 AA batteries and it doesn't fire that fast. the target only works one time with the darts the you have to get a refill. you can't wash it that well. it is though good for laying a rain of fire from a high point but if you get it to run it is very strong, painful sometimes to, but

Boomco Firepower... but beware jamms with ease
It is a great gun, but the jamming factor is a bit much at times. But once you figure out the trigger and right timing it works well. My 6 year old is using this one, and at times has the jamming issues. Overall 4 stars for that reason, all other things about this gun would make it 5 stars.

Better than Nerf
After seeing the Boomco blasters/slammers, I wonder how Nerf is more popular.... Also BOOMco toys are not available in ToysrUS etc. Seems to be some kind of marketing or sales channel issue. My kids have 3 or 4 varieties of these and they absolutely love these. We stopped buying Nerf now. One key differentiator is the plastic darts with Boomco compared to foam darts with nerf. One caution though, almost all the BOOMco toys my kids have seem to shoot at faster speed than Nerf, so should be cautious when kids less that recommended age are around.

Works really well
My 8 year old son loved it. The noise did not bother him as he thought that was even cooler that it is loud! Randomly jams up but I haven't found a Nerf or Boom Co. that is perfect without any jamming. Really cool BOOMco! Darts are fun colors, rotating ammo works really well.

This thing is a vacuum cleaner!
Picked up some fresh batteries and started it up. And let me tell you, as soon as you start shooting people will know you're there so don't bother sneaking around if you're in a Nerf war. It sounds like a small vacuum. Fortunately the fire rate more than makes up for it. And with three cartridges you can fire off an array of darts one after another. I don't know how long it takes before it drains the batteries; that'll be the next thing to check. For now I love this toy
