Since the 70s, Nali has created their famous peri-peri sauce from Malawi birds eye chillies, which are the hottest in Africa. The label on the bottle comes with a warning in English and Chichewa that reads, "Abale Samalani", friends, take care.

Favorite peri-peri sauce
Nali's flavor is by far the best among peri-peri sauces. It's got the heat, but more importantly it has a wonderful flavor. Nali's is a staple condiment in Malawi. It's on every table at all of the restaurants, at least at every restaurant I visited and I travelled from Lilongwe to Livingstonia and back. I've missed this sauce!Glad that it's available on Amazon again.

"A keeper" hot sauce
A great sauce that makes me want to go to Malawi.

Ordered hot sauce and received garlic sauce instead.
I purchased my first bottle of Malawi Nali Hot Sauce in Malawi; it was much better than other African peri-peri and I was excited to find it on Amazon, though I thought the price was too high. Nevertheless, I paid it, but was severely disappointed to receive Nali Garlic Sauce instead of the Nali Hot Sauce. My son-in-law favors the garlic sauce, so I will give it to him rather than sending it back, but it is not similar enough to the hot sauce so I won't be buying it again. The ingredients in the two sauces are the same, but the proportions are clearly not the same. It was the taste of the Nail brand hot sauce that distinguished it from other African hot sauces, not the heat, but the garlic sauce has neither the taste nor the heat that I am looking for. Now I have no idea where to get the real deal without going back to Malawi itself.
