Good Camera for Birds and Small Mammals
I was looking for a good camera to take pictures of birds and small mammals for iNaturalist submissions. This camera seemed ideal because it was noted as having a sensitive trigger, good image quality, a short minimum focus distance and a relatively tight field of view (so small animals would be larger). I set it to take as many images as possible then set it up on a nearby hill for three days.Mostly I got pictures of wind, about 4,000 pictures of wind. It doesn't take that long to search through 4,000 pictures for a few animals though. At the end of doing this, it was clear that this is the camera for the application. It proved sensitive enough to trigger on relatively small birds and gave good enough image quality to identify everything it photographed. With a little more care in positioning wind should not be as much of a problem either, as you can see in the photos there was a moving branch right in front of the camera. At the end of four days shooting a total of about 5,000 pictures, its non-lithium batteries were still at 98%. So I believe the advertisements for battery life. If you set this to take less photos than I did, it should keep going for months. One disappointment was that it is a 3 Megapixel camera, many other cameras are 5 Megapixel. The 12 Megapixels it advertises is fiction. It has a 3 megapixel sensor, then does some math to make a guess as to what the rest of the pixels would be if it were a 12 Megapixel camera. This is not nearly as good as having a 12 Megapixel sensor. Because of this, it is a waste of space on the camera's memory card to use the high resolution mode, if you need to create extra pixels than you can always use image processing software on the computer. So just use the 3 Megapixel mode.

Five Stars
works great. Takes very good Pictures. Looking over the reviews on this cam. They are all over the Map. For the price for me it done a good job. Lot better than the first cam I purchased from another Manufacturer. Yes I did have a few white out photos, Deer to close, a spider to close and a tree limb. False triggers maybe a few but most were found to be the wind blowing a tree limb. Consecutive photos showed limb in different positions. Distance. Last year I had it mounted on a small oak tree in the middle of a 8 acre field. I got picks of UPS FEDEX, mail lady and our personal vehicles and others going down the dirt road, in our drive and several picks while traveling down the drive. I got hundreds of very nice night pics of the deer coming in the field. Sometimes so far off all you could see was the glow of their eyes. Yes I got some creepy pics too. Still not sure what some of the images were at 2 and 3 oclock in the morning. I found out that the deer on my property only come out at night. Day pics of all kinds of animals and birds and cars, No Deer. But I also found out that I have some very nice Bucks hanging out during the night. Now up to date this year. Pulled it out the storage closet and installing new batteries and Just like some other reviews, the battery clip broke off the negative end and rendered the camera Useless. So I sent Primos a email to see if it was possible to get a new back for the camera. The next day they replied with. No problem we will send you a new one. It is on back order and you may not get it until October. They also sent me a link to print out a prepaid shipping label to sent back the defective Camera. Well Today My new Camera showed up UPS. Brand New sealed in the plastic hang on the shelf package. So yes I think this is a issue that they need to address because there are a lot of reviews that state this flaw, But You can not beat or fault customer service. Thank you Pimos for standing behind your product. This one goes out in the field tomorrow night. Bow season starts this weekend. I'm thinking about buying a second Camera. looking at the proof Camera 03 but again the reviews are not very strong. So do I go with the 03 or stick with the 02?

Good camera for the money, just needs a little tweaking.
Update - Been running this camera since August with same set of alkaline batteries and over 1500 pictures, batteries are still 99%. It's easy to set up, takes good pictures, and just plain works. I'm comparing it to a Browning Strikeforce 12HD and the batteries are @ 60% vs the Primos Proof 02 camera. The Browning Strikeforce has not taken as many pictures as well. Both cameras have worked very well but for the money Primos Proof 02 hands down gets my vote.I have two of these cams that I am running test on that I have had since February.Pros--I like the way the python lock runs through the camera, Not only does it lock camera to the tree it also keeps people from opening them and checking or taking sd card. The trigger speed is spot on once you figure out you need camera around 20 yards from trail. Every picture game was centered in the picture.Great day time photosCamo helps blend cam into the treeConThe transition from day to night stinks and is too bright making it difficult to see what is in picture. The wire that connects batteries to camera is going to be an issue. I had another camera like this and it was destroyed after a year of use.I like the cameras but Browning Strikeforce seems to be a better camera. Also running test on Spypoint Force and it shows a lot of promise.

Did Not Last! Failed!
Photo No Longer Works During Daytime & Video Option Doesn't Work at All! I purchased this trail camera in February of 2018 and set it out on my hunting lease. By October 2018, the camera was over-exposing daytime photos, but nighttime photos were fine. Therefore, I tried switching the camera to video and it wouldn't work at all! I have about 18 cameras of different manufacturers, most of which are up to 6 - 8 years old and they are still working fine. I liked some of the features of this camera and I caught them on sale at Amazon, so I thought I would try them. That was a bad decision, that I now regret! No more Primos cameras for me!
