Good But Could Easily Be Better
This is nearly a good product, but it has some design flaws:1) The on/off button is RIGHT where you grip the thing, so I'm constantly turning it off accidentally,2) The on/off button - on mine, anyway - is temperamental. Sometimes I can't turn it on, other times I can't turn it off. Sometimes it turns off by itself.3) Why, oh why, is the power adapter not a USB-type connection?? Surely making it USB is obvious; no need to pack a dedicated charger, there are USB cables EVERYWHERE, etc. A bit dumb.4) Why not make the base level so you can stand the thing up? And add some stability points so that when you put it down on its side, it doesn’t roll all over the place.5) There is no travel protect switch so it has every chance of turning on in your suitcase which I imagine the airlines wouldn't be enamored with. In any case, you could end up with a dead battery when you arrive in Australia looking forward to a shave! On the plus side:1) The battery lasts well enough, but they could have added a low-battery hesitation alert like you get with electric toothbrushes when the power gets low. A flashing light is not very noticeable when you're using the thing.2) It feels reasonably solid and balanced.3) It’s small, so its good for traveling and the battery will last a few shaves/trims for a short trip WITHOUT TAKING THE STUPID CHARGER!4) The range of combs is good, all that I’ve needed over the year or so that I’ve had it.5) The cutting teeth are good and actually cut rather than just push your hair around like the cheap ones.

Very Impressed!
Before getting this Wahl clipper, I had gone through two of those white plastic "T shape" trimmers. The first one died after about a year, and the second one shattered into pieces after being dropped less than three feet onto a linoleum floor. While searching for another fragile white plastic "T shape" trimmer, I came to my senses and looked at Wahl clippers. I have a Wahl nose hair trimmer that's excellent quality and has outlasted many of the cheaper brand ones, so I know that Wahl means quality. This trimmer cost a little less than two of those "T shape" trimmers, but it's worth every penny! First, it runs on a rechargeable lithium battery, no no more disposable batteries. It charged quickly, and I'm still using it over a month later on the first charge (I use it about once a week). It feels very solid, is durable and trims sensitive areas such as back of the neck without pinching or cutting. Then there are all the extras: A small carrying bag with a multitude of different plastic attachable combs, a nose trimmer attachment, a plastic travel plug (protects the charging port from coming into contact with other objects), a small bottle of oil to lubricate the cutters, and a charging stand. On top of all this, it has a five year warranty! One little quirk is that the charging cable plugs into the bottom of the clipper and then it just sits in the small plastic "V" shaped stand. So it's not a "charging stand" that you set the clipper into, rather you plug in the clipper and then place it into the stand. But given that I'll probably only need to charge it after several months, I don't mind removing it from the stand to insert the charging cable. Best trimmer I've ever owned, really nice to see there's a quality company like Wahl still out there.

One Issue that Wahl Handled Perfectly
I recently dropped and broke my cheap Norelco trimmer, and I decided that it was time for an upgrade. I bought this Wahl because it looked to be good quality, and it has a lithium battery that should last between charges and for a long time. When I first received this trimmer, it operated smoothly with one major issue. Over the course of trimming my beard, it pulled out 20 or so hairs. It was extremely painful. I had packed the box to return the trimmer, when I decided to email Wahl for their feedback. Without asking me any questions, they shipped me a new blade set. I installed the new blade yesterday, and it works great. It no longer pulls my hair. I compared the two blades, and it appears that the issue was the alignment between the fixed portion and moving portion of the blade. The new blade works great.I docked one star because the power cord does not firmly seat in the trimmer. If you are not careful, the plug pulls out enough to not charge the trimmer. Over the last couple of weeks, it has pulled out at least 3 times. I now double check it before I leave the bathroom. I wish the charging plug wasn't as finicky.
