Mr. Gasket 3710 Carburetor Heat Shield

Solved my vapor lock issues.

Surprisingly nice quality heat shield (with no chance of melting like those ridiculous sandwich-type shields sold by CoolCarb).While I think this shield is really intended for a Holley (I'd just get the Holley plate if you're running that carb, though it's thinner than the Mr. Gasket offering), the 3710 slides under an Edelbrock 1405 / Carter AFB with relatively easy Dremel modifications.Case in point, I bought mine for use on a Chrysler LA 360 (running a Mopar dual-plane, M1 intake w/Magnum compatible head bolts) topped with an Edelbrock. If I recall right, all I had to do to clear the carb was the clearance one spot for the electric choke. I also remember having to cut a reverse crescent into the left rear of the plate to clear the intake vacuum tee, but that's - of course - specific to this motor and intake.Plus, it complements the engine bay pretty well and looks super clean (and also hides the "Mopar M1" intake casting marks; a plus since I've painted the intake to match the engine). I'll update the review with pictures sometime.

I wanted to use this as a replacement for a wood spacer but when I installed this the carb made a horrible whistle noise due to the plate/gasket combo that is used for installing. I would up using the shield anyway and ditched the other plate/gasket pieces and installed the wood spacer back in to get rid of the noise. The shield itself works well and had cooled down my carb considerably. I do not have measurements to share but it went from not being able to touch the carb to being able to keep my hand safely on it now without getting burned. I no longer have varpor lock or boil over.

Solved my problems, fit perfect! I am very pleased with the product.
