$50 less then my Toro dealer wanted!
I have a 1996 Toro Wheelhorse with a Kohler CV18S engine. When the charging light went on I thought damn, the magnets under the flywheel cut lose (a failing common to this motor). Out came the handy dandy multi-meter. I got 12.5 volts DC at the battery (engine running full throttle would expect 13 something to 14.5 or so) - I was basically measuring battery voltage - not a good sign. I got 44 volts AC on the two white wires from the stator to the regulator, hmm, this is looking better. Check the regulator is grounded - yup, it's grounded. Toro dealer wanted $70 plus tax plus driving up there and back plus they closed in 20 minutes. Ordered this part instead, took me all of 15 minutes to install (mine's in an awkward spot or it would have taken even less) and test. Now I got 14.5 volts DC at the battery, saved $50 and life is good again. Stens has a good reputation for selling decent parts. Get one and save!

Good regulator when used for intended application
Seems well made but was the wrong part for me as it turns out and when I hooked it up like I thought it went I let the smoke out oops! I was trying to use it as a rectifier to convert high power 2 phase voltage into regulated 15A 12V (14.4) and my idea well didn't go as planned. Live and learn I guess but for the engines and machines this is supposed to go on I would have to say its a great replacement part.

Works great so far on a Kohler 18HP engine.
We used this to replace a failed regulator/rectifier on a Kohler 18HP single cylinder engine in a Snapper zero turn mower. After plenty of troubleshooting we determined that it must be the problem, but the local parts store wanted a LOT more than we paid for this one... lol After they quoted us the price, I checked online and found this one at a very reasonable price, and ordered it. It was a direct replacement, it bolted right into the engine cover and the connector plugged right onto it. It fixed the problem with the mower, and seems to be working great after using the mower a couple of times now. Save yourself a few dollars and get this!

Good value that fixed our non-charging issue
Kohler engine on Craftsman rider was not charging. I tested the stator and battery and found both good. Decided the regulator was the issue ... at least I thought so! Replaced the regulator with this model and still had no charging amps. Remembered that the unit must be well grounded and found that someone (previous owner) had both grounding leads connected to the engine but neither to the regulator. I moved one of the grounding leads to the regulator and voila, charging 14+volts. Perfect! Left the new regulator installed but did not go back to confirm the original was bad. Just counted my good fortune and started cutting grass! No problems since. Fast delivery, good price and good part.

Great price and perfect fit
This is a great value replacement for the Kohler SV 715-3027 engine on the Cub Cadet RZT 42 zero turn mower (2012). I would use dielectric grease on the connectors if you have it. The mounting position of the voltage regulator may test your patience.

Works great on Cub Cadet LT1050 with Kohler engine.
Worked perfectly for a Cub Cadet LT1050 that had a bad regulator since it was new. This mower had a Kohler engine with spec ps-sv-720-0010.

Connector is in a different position
The connector tabs are not in the same area as the OEM. I had to mount it in a different way to get it to fit. Other this issue, everything works as expected.
