Corsair Neutron XT 960GB SATA III MLC 7mm Internal Solid State Drive 2.5-Inch

In building a new gaming computer, as usual, I did my research on every component. While surfing the web, I also came across an ASUS video on Youtube that made me research Corsair SSD drives. On their site, you can compare all of their SSD models. Their Neutron XTs were the top ranked for Ultimate gaming. Are they the BEST of the BEST? I researched other credible review sites, which placed them in the top 5. So, I bought two of them. I also found an interesting article that SSD SATAIII have reached their maximum read/write speed at the 5mb/sec and it does not matter what brand you choose. Newer motherboards (mine) now support the new 10mb/sec drives, but can't wait for those drives to come out and I'm sure they will be expensive. WHY TWO DRIVES? The video I watched, showed how to improve the performance of a gaming computer. Create a RAID 0, where the drive work in parallel to reads/writes (You can read up on RAID 0 on Wikipedia). I now get double the space and twice the speed (Never saw a desktop boot/shut down so fast). (Yes I loaded Windows 8.1 on the Raid Drive).Are SSDs Reliable? I'm still wondering that. The computer has been working find for over a month now. A few days ago, one SSD card encountered a S.M.A.R.T. error (going bad). I have had other popular brand cards do the same in the past. Big difference the company! I opened a ticket with Corsair, got a RMA, and a new replacement drive. That is what I call a great warranty service (or was it the AMAZON Invoice?). Of course, have to RAID and rebuild the PC again. I had no loss of data as I use a mechanical drive for that. (Pointed the Documents/Video/Pictures folders to that).NOTE - The error was so bad that I could not recovery the data from the drive with software.

Not quite PCI-e speed, but close enough. I purchased 4 240GB Neutrons to put in RAID-0 on my gaming machine. RAID-0 is basically useless for most games but I like seeing fancy numbers when I run benchmarks. I have my stripe size set to 16KB to minimize lost SSD space without sacrificing too much performance. Make sure you enable write-back cache mode and disable write-back cache flush in Intel's Rapid Storage program to achieve maximum performance in RAID-0 in Windows 10.

Pricy but worked where the samsung pro failed. Got a pair to setup a server which feeds data streams to 4 projectors for dome movie. Samsung Pros would drop frames but these work great. I do not have feedback for long term reliability, will post back after 6 months of use.

Not too good. It worked well for about 7 months, then died suddenly with a Windows BSOD. So far, Ive been around about 8 Corsair SSD drives (Neutron series, and others), and 5 of them have failed, within 8 months, and with only regular use. Their warranty process is kind of a pest, too. The first time i used the disk, i noticed the speed difference with my old hdd and its so enjoyable and confortable to my every day using!

Packaged nicely, removed cloned and working like a champ. I cant say it is faster as it was just replacing a smaller corsair ssd drive...

Great SSD and has nice read/write speeds but it is kind of expensive compared to alternatives

I use this SSD for gaming. The load times are very fast. I highly recommend this SSD.

Had such high hopes for these drives after hearing and seeing nothing but good reviews online. Sadly these drives did not last more than 200hours of running. Please don't let me put you off though. When they work they are a dream to work with and packed with a 5yr manufacturer's warranty and excellent customer service from Corsair. *Note* Just go directly to Corsair's website to request any RMA. They are alot faster and less hassle. I will notify the seller and Corsair that this may have been part of a bad batch and I urge anyone who boy's from this seller to beware! As soon as you see S.M.A.R.T status Bad and you can identify it to be this drive BACK UP your data immediately and contact Corsair directly.Three Stars because it's a good product... When it works.

S.m.a.r.t. bios failure after 1 year of useGot gtx ssd from corsair and it still goes after 3 years so i buy another gtx this model fail on me try to get waranty
