I own six of them.
The title should say it all.PROS - Good sound, quality alligator clip, right-angle connector.CONS - The windscreen falls off on occasion.MENTIONABLE - The microphone is mono. A lot of people think microphones are only good if they are stereo. Stereo simply means two channels and mono means one channel. Check your recording device to see if it's a mono or stereo. If it's mono, they you are good to go. If it's stereo, you are still good to go. Plugging this into a stereo recorder means you will get sound only in the left channel. Post-production editors all allow you to clone the left channel to the right for pseudo-stereo sound. If you want to record to both channels at once (on a stereo recorder), you can also go to Radio Shack for $4 and buy an inline mono-to-stereo adapter. These microphones require power to be supplied by the recording source as they do not have have a battery port like some other models. Do not purchase this expecting it to work in your laptop. Your laptop won't provide power to the mic.The cord length is just fine if connecting the recording device (audio recorder or wireless pack) to the users belt. This will work as a replacement mic on the Azden wireless packs.I use these to mic up documentary actors by connecting them to voice recorders (Olympus 8100PC) for untethered video production.

Good quality for good price
I bought two of these LAV mics and they have served their purpose over the years. The sound quality they pick up is good.

Great low-mid audio!
The media could not be loaded. Wow, I was using several different budget mics and this one really is the best. I actually prefer the sound to not be stereo since I can just duplicate the left mono channel in post and it makes the talent's voice sound very full. I get great audio, not too tiny and not too bassy. If anything, the sound is sitting right around the low-mid area which is what I like. The only negative I had is that you HAVE to remove the windscreen on it for indoor shots, at first since it seemed slightly glued on, I left it on and I could definitely hear it in the recording. But when it isn't on it, it works perfectly!I included the video I made using this exact microphone.

Great!
Keep in mind, I like this because you get what you expect for the price. Don't expect this to replace your high-end lapel mics. If you are on a budget and just need something which will be better than nothing at all, this is a great gig. I also paired this with a cable to separate the Mic-In and the Headphone-Out from my Galaxy Note 4. Worked great. All-in-all, for <$30 for both pieces, this was a great investment when I just need to pick up some audio and don't want to use a boom.Check out my video review: https://youtu.be/l47RRXzlJmI** update **I'm really really impressed by the quality of these mics. I used them to shoot a pilot for a Web series. Check out this scene using these mics in to cell phones. (with mono-to-three-post adapters)https://youtu.be/CtBd_YVvFRM

For the price, it's great; I'd spend more for a nice directional mic next time
For the price this thing works just fine for what it is. However, if you hold the mic near the video camera and not near the source of the sound, it doesn't really have much advantage over just using the built-in mic on your video camera. The only way to get better sound than what your video camera can pick up is to clip it close to the audio source you are trying to record which may make common sense since it comes with a chord and clip. The problem is that it's difficult to make practical use of it given that you basically have to "tether" yourself to whomever you are recording using the power chord which must to connect to your video camera and since the chord is only a few feet long, it's just not that useful unless you most often videotape something just a few feet away from the camera and you don't mind the concept of having the camera tethered to whomever you are videotaping. Even if the chord were much longer, now that I've tried it, I am not sure it would be very convenient or practical to tell whomever it is your videotaping to "Hold on just a second. Put this mic on. Now let me walk back so I can start videotaping you". Kind of ruins the moment and makes it too much trouble to be worth it. Next time, I'll spend a lot more money on a directional mic that doesn't need a chord and see if that works.

OMNIdirectional Mic is OK
It should be noted that this mic is OMNIdirectional, meaning it's intended to pick up everything. The quality of the mic is very good, sound is very great, BUT it will pick up background noise. Don't get me wrong, it's A LOT better than the mic that comes on your DSLR or your Camcorder. This mic would be best used for interviews where your subject is stationary and in a quite room. If you intend to move around you will have SOME sounds of movement, not too bad, however, if you're outside, you'll pick up some wind (again, not horrible, but not perfect).Overall, it's a GREAT value for the price, but it's definitely not the final purchase in the direction of professional audio. It's nice for an amateur, and maybe a back up mic as you become semi-professional.zk

Pair it with a Tascam and You're Gold
I’m pretty amazed at how effective this is with a Tascam DR-05. I bought this lav because a reviewer said it worked really well with the Tascam. He was spot on. As a matter of fact, it’s much better than several high end setups I’ve tested. If you want great sound, buy this and a DR-05 and you’re off. You have to turn the power to “On” on the Tascam under the recording menu. Additionally, if you’re using Premiere Pro, you’ll need to duplicate the left audio channel. Drop the audio onto the timeline, then select the effects panel, choose Audio Effects and then “Fill Left.” It’s pretty amazing. I’ll be buying another Tascam and several more of these. My only issue was the length it took to ship this. (almost 3 weeks, unacceptable) However, that has nothing to do with the quality of the mic. Just be cautious when selecting a shipper.

Good inexpensive microphone that sounds pretty good.
I was in need of a lapel mic for shooting documentaries and Youtube videos and I did not have the budget for an expensive microphone. I saw a couple of people on Youtube recommending the Azden brand so I thought I would try it. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of that microphone.First of all, this mic is MONO only. What it means is that if you listen back to what you recorded, you will only hear sound from your left speaker. In your editing suite, you will have to duplicate the audio track to the right channel so it can be stereo. The microphone takes power from your camera/audio recorder so you will never have a dead battery on set. The cable length is not long enough. I had to buy a cable extension to be able to record and monitor audio. You could use it with an audio recorder and put it on the user's belt but you would have no way to monitor your audio inputs.Pros : Really good quality. The clip is pretty strong. Right Angle 3.5mm connector No batteryCons : The mic is only mono. The cable could be longer

This was recommended to me by a sound guy
This was recommended to me by a sound guy, so he knows his stuff. Definitely a decent lav for the $$, but sound volume ends up being quite low.

Awesome!
Amazing for the price. This has a right angle 3.5mm jack which is awesome if you're using it with a Zoom H1 (or similar device) and don't want the cable sticking out too much.
