From near death to ALIVE AND HAPPY AGAIN!
*UPDATE* Absolute full recovery, with only one dose! Carbon filter back in, still have not done a water change but will do a partial one soon. He is now HAPPY not only to be in his much larger tank, but there is not a mark on and he is happy to beg for food or race across his new acreage. I am amazed every day I look at him! Short of some missing areas from his tail that had gotten really bad during the illness that will grow back, he is 100% and This after a weeks long illness! I mean seriously, covered in ick AND THEN fungus-much worse than pic shows, on bottom of tank NOT moving and actually listing to the side with the current. I am IMPRESSED! Water has mostly cleared on its own of the coloration as well, though like I said, will be back to my regular water changes. THANK YOU TETRA!" This guy had a ROUGH GO! He had a 10 gal that he was outgrowing, all to himself, and I have no other fish except from bettas, separate and I do not share nets or anything! Now I have been a LOOONG time fish keeper of all kinds, but I haven't had ick or fungus for 20 years or MORE.So to see my favorite goldfish, who Ive had for 5 years and actually was a HERO and saved us 1000.00 (its a long story) when I saw him go to a corner and not want to eat 18 times a day and make his happy splashes, I was heartsick. I started frantic water changes while binging on ick videos. I had just bought him a new larger aquarium and stand too. So, in a panic I got what I could get from Wally World same day delivery, (Pandemic, there is no just running to the store) Jungle tabs and anti ick drops. It was all they had. I set up the new aquarium that sadly did not have time to cycle but added in a few pebbles from an old tank for at least SOME good bacteria. FINALLY HE HAD a HUGE tank all for himself (He lived alone in the 10 gal too) I started the tabs and then the drops from Walmart (Jungle brand). He got WORSE. He sat on the bottom air starved and unmoving. I dropped airstones in by him, I would change a 3rd of the tank daily, more water, more meds and of course pulled the carbon filter. He was now not just sitting on the bottom but listing to the side. I thought THIS IS IT-prepare to cry. I put in a quick order for these from Amazon. 2 days shipping can be SLOW sometimes. He was BAD off at this point and had been fighting the Ick and now what looked like fungus and tail rot, but I am not one to quit till he quit. So I took the water all the way down to the top of his head (Hes about the size of hand minus a few fingers) to get the old med out mostly without moving him as he needed no more stress. Even ran the carbon filter for an hour or so before that to clear the old med. Then refilled, pulled the filter again and dissolved 2 of these tabs in a gallon jug (29 gal tank tho the other med was affecting him so badly I opted not to fully dose, which would have been 3 tabs) and then poured in and prayed. I said good night to him and expected a corpse come morning. Day one, he was MEH, not going to move or eat but his breathing wasn't as stressed as it had been with the other med. Though he was covered in salty ick on fins, red lines and what was starting to look like while slime on his body, seemed to be decreased a little. Day 2, he said, maybe I am interested in food, but meh, not really, but he was swimming a bit. (I kept the light off most the time so he could rest) Day 3, NOTABLY different, he said, I WANT TO LIVE and was swimming happily and eating a little, not on his normal schedule but he was EATING. (He normally eats 10 times or more a day, but just a FEW bits each feeding) Day 4 (that's when you redose if needed after a water change) he said, Im GREAT look at me GO in my new bigger tank, feed me, feed me, I'm BACK! I stared leaving the lights on normally for him. I added in some green food to his diet in case of any constipation or slow bowel from the meds or just being sick so long) He still has a few tiny touches of white so I opted to not re dose but did not put the carbon back in yet either. He looks MUCH MUCH MUCH better-most everything cleared from his body. For now I will not redose unless I see an increase in any of the few remnants he has left on his body (VERY VERY LITTLE).Goldfish do NOT tolerate HEAT or SALT, so I had to bypass both of those treatment forms. This was done in water at about 65 degrees. Some helpful hints- This is MALACHITE GREEN and something like formaldehyde. Jungle and other brands are Victoria Green. Do NOT use with snails, plants etc. Ideally put your sick fish in a empty hosp. tank with no furnishings and no CARBON filter-you can still let the filter run, just pull your carbon and bioscreen. If you do have gravel be SURE you clean it, ( I would just donate it to my garden and replace it) and clean your plants too. Set any nets or tubing you used in a bleach water and then sunlight for a week before reusing) In my case he already had a planned move to a larger tank in the works anyhow. Be SURE to pull your carbon filter. Be SURE to do at least a 30% water change before redosing after 4 days, its not DAILY, its every 4 days with this!If you have TETRAS, loaches they can be super sensitive to this med, half dose them or less. Mollies and guppies etc. can tolerate salt and most tropical fish can take heat to get those heaters about to 86. BUT GOLDFISH cannot take salt or heat. The one con, I got a sore throat being near the tank, not sick, just a sore throat. So...eh...hmmm. Goes away after Ive been out of the room a bit. Though like most ick/fungal meds it turned the water blue/yellow, all ick meds do that and have for as long as fishkeeping has been happening. If it stains anything that anything was probably old or cheap.Hate having to buy 2 boxes but at least I can rest easy I have this miracle drug on hand. THANK YOU TETRA for saving an old n well loved goldfish! He came back from the DEAD to live again! THANK YOU!

Nothing else worked for me
I can't tell you how many times I stressed out as a new fish owner, watching fish get sick and not really understanding how to fix it. Testing water, adding medicine, only to have it do nothing. Eventually I gave up and stopped trying. Ironically, this is when everything went right and I had happy, healthy fish. Then one day, my shark got sick and was acting crazy. I mean, he was swimming at full force and banging into the glass. And then he'd swim to the top and literally fall to the bottom over and over again. I felt helpless because it was 9pm and all stores were closed so I couldn't even help him. I was watching him literally bang himself to death. Then I remembered I'd bought these online but hadn't used them. I was desperate and it seemed they would be good no matter if it was bacterial or fungus so I plopped 3 tablets in (30 gallon tank). Within an hour the shark was calm. The next morning he was fine.I dislike using medicine because I doubt it works as it's supposed to OR maybe the issue is that it's very hard to diagnose what's going on with fish unless it's one of the very obvious illnesses like ick. I'll use these from now on, because they seem to work well and don't seem to hurt any of the other fish.

Excellent cure
I've used this cure a number of times with great success in my fancy goldfish fresh water aquarium. This treatment cured a nasty case of fin-rot with my fish, and presently a fungal infection. The water turns a great eerie green yellow when dropped into the tank, and treatments need to be repeated for a few days. Make sure to follow the directions carefully, namely, take the carbon out of your canister filter for this to work, and follow the dosing instructions, they're very easy to follow.I really like that this medicine uses fizzy tablets that are just dropped into the tank instead of having to administer malachite-green drops. The two main ingredient in this cure is malachite green and formalin. I've used malachite green drops before and found they make a great mess, as malachite Green (sometimes called victoria green) is used as a cell dye, and is difficult to scrub off, it also stains many surfaces, so using tablets to administer the medicine is excellent alternative.Alternately I've also used this cure as a preventative about a week after introducing a new acclimated fish to the tank to help kill off any pests they may have brought with them.

Good, but it’s unnecessary to purchase 2 boxes per transaction
It was a great purchase as my fishes needed some medicine,,, BUT It’s not a great value as you have to purchase +2 boxes at the same time as they are not sold individually. I ended up needing only 2 capsules, so now I have more than a box and a half just laying in a shelf where mist likely I’ll never use them again. But it does the job.

Recommend for fin issues.
What I needed it for was mostly fin rot and other fin issues. It seems to have worked fine, in aquarium salted water, but I doubled the recommended dose (of Fungus Guard) for twice as long, too. Then I decreased the doseage for a couple of weeks, then decreased from there, then finally just plain (aquarium salted) water. Total time of treatment (Bettas) in a 2 quart hospital bowl, approximately 5 weeks. They are doing MUCH better. The treatment is finished, but they should continue to improve. This med was highly recommended by a show Betta friend..and me. I recommend this product all the time. It covers a multitude of fish illnesses. Do not treat your fish with anything ending in ...'fix'.
