Good reception but a few minor issues
I live in northeast CT with Boston to the ENE, Providence to the ESE, Hartford to the W and New Haven to the SW - all within 57 miles. Northeast CT is a bit hilly and a lot of forest, so I have my antenna mounted atop an antenna mast which is strapped to the chimney - in all, about 30ft high. Climbing a ladder to keep pointing in all those different directions is a big problem, so I definitely appreciate the rotor. From about 18 different broadcast stations in those 4 cities, I am able to pick up about 42 channels (some in spanish which are useless to me) which includes about a dozen HD channels and the rest SD. I'm uniquely positioned where I can get different NFL games on Sunday...out of Boston, CBS is broadcasting Broncos/Bears. Out of Hartford and Providence, I'm getting Jets/Texans on CBS. Can't wait till March madness. CBS is notorious for switching games in different markets...this way I'll be able to choose for myself to some degree. But back to the antenna... generally I'm happy with it. It comes with a small box with an on/off switch for the signal booster and the power (via the RG6 cable) to the rotor. Another button on the box rotates the rotor/antenna. There is also a remote for rotating the rotor. For some reason, the remote has two buttons that both rotate the rotor...the two buttons do exactly the same thing, which is a little confusing especially since there are virtually no user instructions. The remote is line-of-site only and has a range of only about 15-20 ft. So if you're planning on standing outside with your compass and remote to more accurately point the antenna, forget it. Also, the rotor turns too fast for fine tuning. The rotor has a mind of its own when it comes to deciding which way to rotate, CW or CCW. I think pushing the button twice rapidly, changes the direction, but its very flaky and irritating when you're trying to be precise in pointing it to a certain direction. Also note that it wont rotate more than 360 degrees. Once it gets to 360, it will reverse direction all the way back to nearly the same position (0 degrees) and then reverse direction again. One other thing... both the box and rotor have a pretty bright red light. The light on the rotor comes in handy to confirm that the RG6 is connected and powered. But its a little bright at night and is always on as long as the RG6 is connected and the switch on the power box is on. The light on the power box is way too bright too. But these are all minor points. the antenna gets good reception (up to 60 miles, for me) and the rotor, even with its flaws I noted above, beats climbing a 30-ft ladder to make directional adjustments.

I have been impressed with this antenna. Well worth the money!I just cut our cord to cable and I was concerned with getting a quality Antenna. I started by hooking this up just in the living room right next to the tv. I went on-line and found what direction I needed to point the antenna (just do a google search to see how to do this). I was able to get about 25 station from that location.I then removed an old dish from my roof and connected this antenna at that location. I used one of the cables already running from the dish to my house and connected to this antenna. The cable entering my house was then split to about 5 tv's. Before the cable entered the splitter, I added the amplifier. I was very surprised to find that the amplifier had enough strength to get a strong signal to 4 different tv's in the house. I also attached my home stereo to this splitter (so split the line a total of 5 times) and now receive great FM signals (I had poor FM signals in the past with an FM antenna of almost equal cost). By now searching for channels with it located on the roof (it is partially blocked from good reception from my neighbor), I receive 44 channels. I am about 40 miles from Minneapolis.I am very happy. The only reason I did not give it 5 starts is because the cable it is supplied with is junk, I didn't use it. Also the powered rotation is cheesy. The directions are poor on how to do this. It comes with a remote with two buttons on the remote. Most would assume one is for clockwise rotation and the other is for counter clockwise. well the buttons do the same thing. To change directions you push the same button twice. To even get it to turn, you press a red button on the amplifier, then you push a button on the remote. This might seem obvious, but when the amplifier is in the basement and I was outside getting frustrated that the antenna would not turn... well I took a star away.
