Gibraltar SC-MCSA6 6 Inch Mini Cymbal Stacker

We were a little concerned that it would not fit on our stand. We measured the threads on our stand at 7.75 inches on with calipers. However, it fits just fine and the thread matches. The quality of workmanship is fine. The washer at the bottom is metal and not plastic. I prefer that. Pads feel like they are of good quality. Was concerned that it would be a little too high up above the other symbol, but it works. Would have been OK with a five inch too. Did not see one offered. My spouse has the four inch one and that is just too close. Plus it costs more.

I wanted a 6-inch cymbal stacker and these were the cheapest ones I could find. So far they have worked well and don't show any sign of breaking anytime soon. The reason I gave them four stars is their attachment mechanics. As I suppose it is with most cymbal stackers, these screw down onto the bar the lower cymbal sits on. The problem is, the threading inside these things is very tight or course or something, which makes it an enormous hassle to screw these on. The base of tube has some texturing to get a better grip for screwing these on, but it's only on the base and doesn't help much. Also, I think I tried to use it on one of my stands and it didn't fit at all, so I was forced to use it on a different stand. Although it's supposed to be sort of a one-time thing, I like to fiddle with and readjust my drum set often, so this I'm forced to face this inconvenience quite often; it sometimes stops me from making any adjustments out of laziness. I'm not sure how these problems would be fixed or if other stackers have this problem, but just keep that in mind.

These are great. I wish the sleeves were a little longer, but I don't think it's too bid a deal for splashes, which decay rapidly (and don't wobble much).I wouldn't mount large or expensive cybmals on these, at least not without installing a longer sleeve. I think it would be possible to key hole certain cymbals on one of these stock. I just have cheap Wuhan splashes (which all sound great, btw) on these, so no worries.Also, the base of this replaces whatever nut you would have had holding down your cymbal beneath. If you were relying on a wing nut or the like to provide some damping, you'll lose that.Good space savers and far less expensive than additional cymbal stands.Given that they are round a 1/3 the cost of a cymbal stand, but far, far smaller, it would be nice if these were a little cheaper or maybe come in two packs at this price (approx. $12).

I hate carrying around a bag full of cymbal stands for every cymbal I own. Its not unusual for me to use as many as 9 cymbals on my kit so carrying 9 stands is a workout. I started using cymbal stackers a few years back and they work out great..... I now have 3-4 less cymbal stands to carry around for my splash cymbals.... Mary this to the Yamaha triple holder and their small boom stand and I have reduced nine cymbal stands down to three. and believe me three is a much better number when one is gigging about town than 9......... unless one can afford roadies ......

This will not screw on to a thin stem. Great with a sturdy one. Maybe a few adapters should come with it.

Pretty cool option if you've got splashes and you got no time/space to put another stand(s). I've bought two of this stackers (for an 10" and 12" splashes) and it works really cool.The only reason that I'm giving it 4/5 is because I think it's longer that I though I needed it (I use my crash cymbals a little higher and, if I want to use this stackers, I've to bring down them from my natural reach). I'm 6"2', so if your hand reach is long, I recommend the 4 inch version of this stackers.

For its purpose it works wonderfully prob won't use it for anythin bigger than 12 inch

Good solid 6 inch stacker, seems the 4 inchers are prone to break, I've got 2 and 1 has been on about 3 years, np, usally can't go wrong with most gibraltar hardware.

I used this to add a splash on top of my crash utilising the single stand. I liked its availability, utility and the price. I would have awarded it 5 stars, but it got just 4 because whilst it works, unlike the admittedly more expensive Tama unit, has a flaw which could and should be addressed by Gibraltar.When mounted, there's nothing to retain the top felt against the cymbal underneath except itself. As one plays, the felt washer/foam in the case of Pearl, above the crash rides up the shaft until there's no contact with the crash. The inclusion of a washer and collar with a grub screw to fit the shaft outer diameter to retain the felt in contact with the cymba,l which would coincidentally be height adjustable to accommodate different brand thickness foam/felts, and inexpensive for Gibraltar to source in bulk to include with every unit for a pithy increase in price to cover it well worth paying.

Works very well. Note that it is for the modern 8mm cymbal stand posts. I am going to try a 8-6mm reducer to see if I can get it onto one of my older stands with a 6mm post. Other than that, I really like it and will buy another one. I only use it for small splash cymbals.
