Parametric Building Design Using Autodesk Maya

Amazing integration of parametric design process with the powerful creative facilities in Maya. I had been waiting for a book exactly like this but had not found it since the topic is an amalgam of high-powered concepts for creating unique art and structures. Only someone like the author who evidently has delved deeply into how Maya features enable parametric modeling through automation, animation, simulation and even fabrication could deliver this tour de force that will open up a new universe of creative possibilities beyond typical 3D modeling. I'm already applying these techniques to great effect.

Great book on parametric modeling for architects. Online tutorials very useful, although website can be hard to navigate at times. Quality content on an application for this program which is not very well documented. There is a steep learning curve, but this book will help guide you though it.

After some problems with the US Post Office, my copy finally arrived. The seller was very nice. I haven't had time to really get into it yet as it just arrived. It does look like what I was expecting and at this time I am pleased with the quality of the materials therein.

This book is a poorly edited, poorly formatted piece of garbage.There is so much meaningless post-modern garbage that it's hard to discern what the author is trying to say.It's clear the author had little actual content to offer and decided to pad the book with endless meaningless sentences that simply don't mean anything.- Terrible spelling, punctuation, grammar- Awful low-res screenshots and images- Confusing flow of ideasAvoid unless absolutely desperate to do parametric design in Maya the way I was.

I had already been using Maya for kitchen design real-time, however the concepts and techniques for this book have helped me think of using Maya in new ways.

Just got it on the iPad...DON'T. For starters, the pictures are super-lores and you can't zoom on them, so all the settings that look to be helpful (I wouldn't know, I can't see them) are useless pixels. Just when I realized there's a big website to help me out, I find that, you guessed it, the videos aren't iPad friendly...you need the good ol' Flash Player to play 'em. Yeah, I can watch 'em on my PC, but that's NOT why I bought this book on the iPad. Oh well. Huge oversight on either the author's or publisher's part. Makes me wonder what might be overlooked in the book's content. Someone please buy the hardcopy and review it. I'm interested in hearing what I didn't get.

Within an hour of opening this book (not hard back) the pages fell away from the binding! I was trying to find a link to give feedback to suppler, but there is non. :-(The book... Not as informative as I expected. Not enough clear examples.
