Update: I finally received a response from the vendor regarding my umbrella. Jenna is extremely helpful and apologetic. The company replaced my umbrella and shipped a new one 2 day delivery at no cost! I've changed the stars from 1-4 based on exceptional customer service.I would give this umbrella no stars, but that's not an option. Some things to note:Pros:I like the shape. It's nice to have an oblong umbrella for an oblong table.It's lightweight.Cons:The center pole is larger then the umbrella hole in standard tables. We have it right next to the table secured with a piece of wire. Not at all convenient for the two people on either side of the pole.The umbrella is so oblong that the crank handle wants to uncrank on its own. We have a Velcro strap wrapped around the pole and the crank so it doesn't slowly close on its own.This umbrella FADED!!! I attached a picture. The inside is the darker color that the whole umbrella used to be. The lighter color is how much it's faded after just one summer.The fabric is more like parachute fabric then stronger umbrella fabric. I'm wondering if it will last more then one summer!Buyer beware. Look for something else.

Some of these patio umbrellas can last for many seasons if they kept indoor when not in use. At least this is the case for our experience with patio umbrellas! We had ours for about seven years,the only issue it was fading in color,also it was one of those with string pull mechanism. Short story,it is time for a new one.The french sounding brand "Le Papillon" is not what makes this patio umbrella unique,it is rather the quality and craftsmanship.We chose the red color just for a change,and it was a good color choice,it is fire red and decent material which is obviously water proof/repellent.Putting it together was as easy as opening the box that contains it! No tools or expertise needed,hook up one end of the pole to another,click in place,attach it to a base and start cranking up. It is a whole lot easier than the one with the string pull type,as it requires some muscle,where as this one even a child can crank it open.Size is more than enough(9 FT) for our six chair and table setup,and it is not showing due to the fact that winter is taking forever here in the north eastern part of the USA.So far and from the look and feel of this umbrella it seems like decent quality! Strong,sturdy and easy to operate. One advice to my fellow Amazon shoppers,the key to a long lasting umbrella is maintenance! When not in use,either bring it indoors or get some type of cover for it to protect it from the weather.After given it a couple of test runs,I do recommend it,however I will be updating my review if anything goes wrong regarding its quality and durability.

This umbrella is well made and covers our table well. I didn't need to buy a stand because our heavy metal stand was suitable. The round center pole fits inside the stand well. The problem lies in that the hole of the table does not accomodate the center pole. We are able to have the stand on the outside of the table so it does work. I was pleased to find a rectangle umbrella that covers the glass table and was reasonable in price. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a rectangle table but would caution you to ask the size of the center pole to make sure it goes through the table and fits the stand you have. I took a chance that without knowing the size of the pole it would fit the stand but I never expected it not to fit through the hole.

This umbrella was very easy and sturdy to set up With just one click the umbrella was in one sturdy piece and ready to set up for the sun! The larger diameter pole makes it very stable and willfit in most bases, (but I have since ordered a larger base for sturdiness) I cranked it clock ways to rise and it is large enough for an oblong patio table. The material is the exact perfectweight (only weighs a little bit more then regular umbrellas due to size) that keeps the sun off of us, but the wind doesn’t affect. Wehave taken it to the beach twice on “still” days and the amount of shade the umbrella provides is heavenly! The stitching and the storage tie are very high quality as are the pocket holes for the umbrella limbs. The umbrella pole is sturdy but light enough for me to carry to where I would like to place it. The vent in the top also adds to the umbrella's qualities. There are so many uses for this umbrella I’m considering ordering a second one and would highly recommend it! No more nagging ro build a permanent sunshade. This is portable and large to move where you need it.

Out of the box the color was really nice but it quickly faded within a few weeks. I've only had it outside exposed to the sunshine since early June. It does provides a great amount of shade and it is fairly lightweight. It has a nice cranking system but now it will not close without manual assistance. It seemed so promising but I am very amdisappointed in this product.UPDATDE: This update is long overdue. The company sent me a BRAND NEW replacement which looks great and functions just fine. It's not red but I can live with the tan shade color.

I love this umbrella, especially for the price. Pros: Very sturdy. Hardware seems quality. Size: Cant get cant bigger than this. Cons: Only one. The fabric is very lightweight, and will allow rain to come through. Apparently this is a sun shade umbrella only, and not an all weather umbrella. That's OK, because I bought it mostly for shade anyway.

careful, it had several small pin holes, and it is not the normal size umbrella pole ended up have to have a custom hole cut to fit the pole base, but it is beautiful and big
