Braun electric shaver shaver part 31B, compatible with Series 3 razors (older generations, 5000/6000 series), Contour, Flex XP, Flex integral, black

Don't you just hate it when companies bring out a new improved version of their product that is worse than the original? Well that's exactly what Braun have done with this. The cutter block has a completely new blade concept - instead of a row of blades pointing upwards, they are all at right angles now (they are like a T section with the blades themselves forming the top of the T, pointing sideways rather than upwards). No doubt this gives a slightly more comfortable shave (albeit due to being a less close shave), and probably pleases the health and safety police as it's harder for idiots to cut themselves when replacing a cutter block, but it sadly now doesn't give anything like as close a shave. I can shave as close as possible with this block in, put my 3 year old "blunt" cutter block back in, go back over my face and hear it taking more stubble off and clearly feel the difference afterwards too.When your new design blades are worse than a blunt 3 year old cutter block you've got a serious problem in your design department. So will be looking for a new shaver instead, rather than paying £20 again for parts for a shaver with worse than blunt replacements.

Please, please, please, please can Braun publish a simple, clear table showing which foils and which heads fit which razors !!!!!Also, because the razors are usually on sale at about 60% 'discount', the replacement foils are two thirds of the price of a new razor, which does not encourage eco-friendliness.

Was advised that the part number 30B was correct for my Braun S3 model 3040S but this was incorrect advice and therefore I have wasted almost £20.00! So after taking independent advise I shall now have to give Amazon another £20+ for the correct cutter and foil!!!

The foil head does not match the series 3 braun shaver, I had to reuse the old foil head, the cutter is ok, the foil head will not clip in and it also looks shorter than the original head. again I point out cutter works,but with the old foil head. I also say that the bubble package was sealed and intact. cannot understand why this combo was not suitable. regards, WJR.

Product litrature on Amazon lists this item as suitable for series 3 390cc razor, opon recipt and unpacking found it is not. Series 3 390cc requires a 32b. Item is therefore useless to me, unfortunately opened pack and offered up to razor before finding out

Only used 3 / 4 times, better shave than the 'old' previous cutter/foil head but not as good as expected sadly. My comments for this second replacement remain the same! It is only marginally better than the one just discarded( & that was only 4 months of use & not daily even,) However, the Braun razor itself remains as powerful as when first bought! It is a pity that Braun don't appreciate the Razor's quality & make SUITABLE replacement parts themselves! Of course, they wouldn't sell as many NEW razors---that would be bad for them, wouldn't it,?!

So many Braun shaver foils available and some are not manufactured by Braun so the foils and cutters do not shave as well and need replacing more often.Off to Boots for a genuine Braun part!

This worked perfectly in my 5xxx shaver, replacing the foil and cutter. You can check whether it fits your shaver on the Braun website.Until my first shave with this replacement, I'd forgotten how smooth a shave you can get with an electric shaver. It really is like having a new shaver again. I'm going to make a new year's resolution to replace this as instructed every six months or so rather than waiting six years again.
