Makes life easier
I recently built some custom wardrobes with ikea drawer units and shelves. This jig made the build so much easier. Very simple to use. I suggest using tape markers on the holes to ensure you get the correct spacing. It appears I can’t count to 8 reliably so made a couple of mistakes with offset holes, but that is not the jigs fault!! The counterbore bit works perfectly. Set it up on some scrap to make sure you don’t go too deep!Great tool.

Not Applicable to UK Use Without Modification
The product itself is of acceptable manufactured quality - the jig/template is made of fairly thick plastic but the included drill bit tends to be temperamental. On my first purchase of this kit, the drill bit broke apart. I received a replacement kit from Amazon without issue. However, this kit is manufactured for use in the US as the drill bit included is for 1/4" shelf pins. In the UK we use 5mm and 6mm pins. I discovered the incompatibility after drilling almost all of the holes for my project. A 6mm pin would easily fall out and would not hold any weight. This can be remedied with some work. If the included drill bit is disassembled such that the spring assembly remains intact but the grub screw is loosened just enough to allow the drill bit to slide out, the drill bit is found to be fairly short with a flat side of the shank for the grub screw to press against. If the included drill bit is taken out, a standard 6mm drill bit can be modified using an angle grinder to match the length and the flat side on the shank can also be ground on. The new bit will fit perfectly in the assembly and the grub screw can now be tightened again. This leads to a new issue. There are two included plastic pins for alignment purposes as the jig is moved along the workpiece. If using a standard UK 6mm pin/drill bit, the 5mm pin is too small and the 6mm pin is too large. To fix this the 6mm pin must be adjusted by putting it in a drill and slowly sanding down the shank of the pin using sandpaper until it fits.In conclusion, with a bit of fettling this can become a good shelf pin jig but as it comes it is not useful for UK shelf pins. 1/4" shelf pins are not commonly available in the UK and our 6mm standard does not fit the hole that is made with the included drill bit.

Loose holes
This product would be greats, however the drill bit has so much movement that it does not give accurate placement of holes and also means the holes become bigger than the required size so doesn’t hold shelf pegs in nicely. I actually ended up using an offcut of plywood and making my own jig and using a standard drill bit and achieved a much better and more accurate fit.

Small and compact
It’s a good idea but comes withA 1/4 inch bit which is too largeFor standard shelf pegs , I had to order the European 5mm jig separately but even that was slightlyToo big .
