The Daily Dozen Raised Donut Mix Pack

a must buy. these are fery good n easy to make.

Whoever heard of baking powder or baking soda in yeast donuts? I unfortunately bought 2 of this and it's a weird cross between cake and yeast raised donuts. Think Dunkin Donuts. The end product was hard in a day and the texture was, well, Dunkin. I only fixed half a package and ate one and ended giving the rest and the remaining half package plus the full package to the neighbor who likes these kind of donuts. I even deep-fried them but that didn't help. I tried looking for another brand but they're all alike, some with baking powder, most with baking soda. Oh well, back to scratch, I guess.

Opened one of several packages purchased and found mold in it. Disturbing! Obviously there is a quality issue with how the product is made/packaged. I never heard of a "dry" product getting moldy before. The dry yeast packet was tossed into the mix so I guess it could be that something rubbed off of it, but frankly who wants to play with spores if it is mold? We are not going to eat it either way!

Followed instructions exactly and product did not rise. Yeast must have been old. Use before date on package is 2/16/24. Had to throw all out and wasted 2 hours of time.

This mix made delicious donuts and were easily made.
