Oetiker 18500056 Service Kit (2-Ear Clamps, zinc plated with standard jaw single action pincers)

I bought this kit to replace a garden hose that was leaking. It is far better than screw types which strip out if you tighten too much. These did the job, and now the hose doesn't leak anymore at the connection.

10 times better then a worm clamp

Worked very well. no more cut up fingers with the screw hose clamps. It took a huge tear on my knuckle to drive this purchase.

Should have bought this years ago, now I have replaced all my screw clamps on hoses with these clamps as they hold better, but if you have to remove them, it does require that these be cut off and a new clamp installed. Use the original Oetiker clamps as I tried some "Oetiker Style SS Single Ear Hose/Seal Clamps" which means that they are a chinese copy and they did not handle the pressure of an average garden hose.

The tool is too small to actually control the clamping pressure so you either over tighten the clamp or under tighten the clamp. You can make it work better by extending the handles wit a piece of pipe on each handle, but I never could get the clamp to seal all of the water even with two clamps.I finally bought a Pex tool and clamps and they work great. I will give this tool to someone I don't like!

I have used these a few time and they do work. I was hoping that they would somehow give a cleaner install and or be a little more durable....but for the price I think I got more than I paid for. I would recommend these for household/barn/garage use, not really fully industrial.
