Sturdy and well made

Living in a shoebox condo, you look for storage wherever you can get it. I'm embarrassed it took many years for us to realize we had a good 16" of clearance above our garage door just asking to keep not often used items. We got the 48x24" shelves and they work perfectly in that space to hold coolers, home store buckets, tarps, etc. It installed in more time that we would've thought and we suggest bumping your drill bit one higher for the lag bolts (we used 1/2") because the one they suggest is too small and split a piece of wood. Bumping up to the 1/2" bit gave us proper solid holes to work with into the studs. We'll likely get the 36"x18" shelves to butt up to these on the side walls for corner storage in the near future. I will say, it would be nice to have a 4" high lip on the sides so we've got a divider through another company on order and are crossing our fingers. A 4-8" lip would allow those using it over the garage door to not worry about vibration. Right now we're super happy with the purchase and if anything changes, I'll update.

I just purchased my 4th set of these shelves. Yes, my 4th. Low-profile, easy to install, holds HUGE amounts of HEAVY garage things without sacrificing floor space.I had 2 sets in my old townhouse garage. When I sold the townhouse the buyers specifically requested that I leave the shelves, so I did. Got to my new house, had a 2.5 car garage so I didn't think I would need these shelves again. Well, I sure did miss having the off-the-ground storage space after a few months, so I bought 2 more sets and had them installed in less than 30 minutes. One shelf alone holds a full set of 17" wheels and tires for me.Remember, that each purchase yields TWO SHELVES.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Worst product ever bought on Amazon. Bought it twice and missed the shelf’s twice. Very difficult to get reach the seller. Please don’t waste your time and money on this product

I ordered 2 sets of 2 shelves. I had a 12’ span to cover. Three shelves fit perfectly. The first 2 shelves arrived and Installed them. The other 2 were late. They arrived the next day in a damaged box. One shelf was in good shape and I installed it. The second had a broken shelf and bent support. It appeared to be run over. I was going to use the 4th shelf in another area.I called the Hyloft customer service number 4 or 5 times. I never received a return call. It is now past 30 days for Amazon return.

I have been using these in my different home’s garages for 15 years with no problems for the shelves.For a while, about 10 years ago the included lag screws were very low quality Chinese products that broke when tightened normally. Which creates an installation nightmare. I had to buy all new at the hardware store.Last two orders were ok. No breakage.The company responded quickly when I called that a support was missing from a freight damaged box. No hassle. Replaced quickly.

I had ordered these shelves from a home improvement store some years ago and they've proven to be super useful in keeping our garage tidy, so I bought two boxes of these from Amazon. The boxes arrived with visible damage but I figured the shelves were fine. Nope. The shelves are visibly curved so they don't sit flush against the wall or when they're installed side by side (two 48" shelves placed to make one 96" shelf.Worse, one of the shelf brackets was missing from one of the boxes, and then I noticed that the paint was chipped off two of the shelves. I paid for brand new shelves but I fear that I got a product that was returned. The manufacturer includes a toll-free number to call about products, but it's frustrating to get a busted product from Amazon.

Installed in my garage holding various totes and various weights. Look nice, pretty easy to install. I did not use the velcro bands included but opted instead to use zip-ties.
