THIS PRODUCT IS GREAT, BUT, ALL MY PROBLEMS ARENT WITH THIS PRODUCT BUT WITH THE MANNER WITH WHICH MY ORDER WAS HANDLED, OR, MORE ACCURATELY, HANDLED POORLY. OH, BUT THE GRAND AND GLORIOUS COMPANY, THAT DEMANDS TO REMAIN NAMELESS, REFUSES TO ALLOW PEOPLE TO COMMENT ON THEIR POOR SERVICE, SLOW HANDLING AND GOOFY RULES, THAT PREVENT TRUTHFUL REVIEWS, AND OTHER SILLY CENSORSHIP TO PROTECT THE NAME THEY BELIEVE THEY HAVE. I WILL BUY LOCAL FROM NOW ON.

Great for cleaning an lubricating firearms

This is good stuff....REAL good stuff - for cleaning and maintaining airgun barrels and I presume, lots of other various items whose construxtoln materials might preclude them from safely being cleaned with other cleaning products.I don't consider Ballistol's smell to be quite as pleasant as Simple Green or as fragrant as traditional Hoppecs #9 firearm bore solvent, but it definitely has its own unique brand of 'clean smell's and I don't mind it one bit. (I bought a 4oz can of the NON-aerosol variant of Ballistol, as I don't like the idea of adding harmful CFC's and traces of neurotoxins to an otherwise fairly harmless and environmentally 'green' product like Ballistol has here......BUT....I'm not sure how that would affect the smell, either.....soooooo...... YMMV ;)As for how it works ....well, this product is made to be the BEST combination of a powerful cleaner and surface protectant whose strength lies, I imagine, approximately somewhere *BETWEEN* Hoppe's Elite/MPro and maybe Breakfree CLP (on the high-strength side) ...VERSUS... isopropyl alcohol and Goo-Gonr (on the low-strength side).**THE BENEFITS**, of this product, however, are that it is specifically engineered to not only prevent environmentally or biologically harmful chrmicals fro. Actually harming the environment or it's inhabitants buy it is also cometely safe for [rubber, leather or synthetic] o-rings< gaskets, wood, plastic and other materials, especially commonly found in AIRGUNS (wink wink)!!! Paying a few bucks for a 4oz can of "the good stuff" for my beloved airguns (which will likely last me a decade is a small price to pay to KNOW that if my seals or o-rings have issues, I can be sure that they were NOT caused by this product but rather by something else, for exampleWell worth it to me!Hope this helps someone make their decision.Enjoy!

It works good. Nice travel size for in the car. Good price for the size.

My new son-in-law was woefully informed and supplied about scavengers and predators until he built their home near a small town. I hooked him up with the basics, including Ballistol and bore snakes to help them "survive the wilderness!" It doesn't take a lot, and you need to use it regularly. He agreed. we chuckle about that every time either one of them shoots something that shouldn't have gone there!

Like Hickok45 says, Ballistol is all you need when it comes to cleaner and oil for your firearms. It really is a great product.
