Excellent value, amazingly versatile, and fits my 9mm Stoeger Cougar 8000 FT almost like a glove
I was delighted to recently find a brand-new Stoeger Cougar 8000 9mm for sale online (later reincarnation of the Beretta of the same name), but since it was discontinued several years ago, there was one problem: Model-specific holsters for them are virtually impossible to find. Further, mine is an FT model with a picatinny accessory mount under the muzzle, giving the nose a tall, square, jagged contour. After striking out with several other off-the-shelf generic holsters, I resolved to order a custom leather holster to my exact liking, but it'll cost me a bundle, and will take 6-8 weeks to arrive, and I needed something for the short term, mostly for open carry transport into and at the range, etc. While it isn't perfect, and has a few limitations, this holster not only fits my gun perfectly (after cutting a few optional stitches per the instructions), it has a myriad of unique features that I love, making it a keeper even after the custom holster arrives. The removable metal belt-clip works fairly well, and while a bit loose for OWB, it allows for quick attachment and removal. I wouldn't feel safe doing a lot of physical movement with the clip alone, but it's perfect for short-term transport, transitions in/out of a vehicle, etc. If I had one wish, it would be that the belt clip be wider. The alternate vertical loop provides a more-secure attachment directly to my belt for OWB carry, and both loops are on both sides of the holster -- a hit for me because I often hike outdoors with a SLR camera on a speed shoulder strap hanging on my right hip, allowing me to quickly reconfigure the holster to carry the gun on my left if I wanted. The fit for my gun is mildly snug, which is good, but the nylon seams cause some minor snagging with the sights and the accessory mount when drawing and re-holstering, requiring just a little more deliberateness to overcome at times. Not a show-stopper, and this could be minimized I think by carefully trimming the nylon fringes on the internal side of the seams. I've otherwise found the sturdy but soft nylon construction comfortable to wear OWB, and it allows the holster to serve as a protective case when off my belt, i.e. when storing the weapon loose in the vehicle center console or in my gun safe at home. Two different lengths of double-snap elastic safety straps are included and secure the weapon in the holster well. The extra magazine slot is a nice bonus, too. The velcro strap that secures the magazine could be a smidge longer, but it works, and its location and construction is so streamlined that I hardly notice it's there -- with a magazine inserted or not.I lack an application for the very long web straps that are included, but can see their use for securing the holster in a vehicle, etc.All that in mind, I might give it 4 stars if it cost a lot more, but at this price, given all that it can do and has done for me already, it's a real winner. Very glad to have it.

Good range holster; practical not tactical.
When reviewing products for firearms, it's important to distinguish the type of user. I do not conceal or open carry in public, this product will see the most use when displayed outwardly on the hip at a private firing range.Negatives;Despite being advertised as concealed carry capable, I would not recommend it, as the material makes it bulky, visible, and very uncomfortable, the stitching will poke at you constantly. The metal clip intended to be used on a belt (or depicted as over the waistband if concealed) doesn't do a great job of keeping the holster in place when drawing the firearm (or in general for that matter, it slides all over the place), you'll be pulling the whole holster off your belt before you get your firearm free (though I do feel like this will become less of an issue the more it is broken in and used). Some of this issue may be when using medium to large pistols, where the front sight post may snag on the exterior of the holster. Personally, I opt to simply feed my belt through the fabric loop on the side of the holster, and I feel like this is MUCH more secure.Positives; It's a very nice soft holster with a snug fit on my S&W, It holds the firearm tight, and I feel like even without the included retention strap that it would stay put during normal activities. As someone who has a loud dislike for plastic holsters, this is a wonderful alternative for the money. I'm not trying to be tactical, only practical, and this holster fits that bill perfectly. It is very comfortable to draw from (when fed onto a belt and not used with the metal clip), and re-holstering is stiff in a good way.The extra magazine strap in the front is convenient and keeps said extra magazine snug. On that note, the Velcro strap will not reach up and around standard magazines, but the elastic is tight enough to keep one in place without it. Keep in mind that I don't do a lot of moving around while wearing it, so beyond swapping magazines at the range, I don't know how well a spare magazine will stay in place.Overall; If you're looking for a cheap conceal-carry holster, keep looking, this probably wont please you.If you're looking for a good range holster and aren't fond of hard plastic holsters (or dropping your gun in your pocket), this is the perfect budget option for you.

Not for "large" mags...
Description says it can be used on "large" handguns including Glock, but:(1) it was way too hard to cut the stitch so I could get my Glock 22 in the holster, and because it was stitched so tight I ended up damaging the holster a little bit;(2) mag strap is too short; it would only take my 15-round .40-cal mag sideways, and then the strap would slide off to the side of the angled bottom plate of the mag; and(3) there were some broken pieces of black plastic in the bag that the holster and straps came in, no idea what those broken pieces are. It doesn't even look like all those pieces make a whole whatever-it's-supposed-to-be. Weird. My final judgement on this holster is that it is NOT for "large" handguns or at least handguns with longer mags. (In fact seems way harder than it should be to find holsters that will take the 15-round mags.) I'm keeping the holster because I damaged it a wee bit getting the stitch out and to keep from wasting the entire 22 bucks plus tax. My full-size Glock 22 does slip far enough inside to fully cover the trigger. I've ordered a pair of mag holsters (for an extra 14 bucks) to hold the 2 extra mags that came with my Glock. I sure wish I could get at least one of those in the holster with the gun, as we can do with the holster for my wife's "compact" 9mm.
