Q: do you need for rear of jeep also or can you not tell front wheels are out further?

I'd highly recommend getting them for both axles. I did them on my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. If you don't do the rear the front wheels will set obviously more

Yes, I had about 2 inches of studs coming through the whee. Definitely enough for the lugnuts to seat properly

Alot of people are running longer stude and open acorn nuts . They weren't too bad on my zj but other jeeps seem to have short lug issues
