I really didn’t know what to expect. Though I am not taking a prescription, for years I would not travel without at least a small package of those calcium tablets. And they are always in my medicine cabinet. Some nights I could just feel the acid wanting to crawl up my esophagus, some days I could feel that sour stomach feeling. Was it something I ate? Is it just too much stress? And I know that long term erosion of the esophagus from stomach acid can cause serious health issues.So what’s the harm in trying? Maybe it’s an alternative to those calcium tablets. After receiving, the bottle sat around a few days until the signs were saying, ‘this is going to be a sour night.’After removing the plastic tamper-proof security wrap and the liner under the cap, I squeezed (a little harder than I expected to) onto a normal kitchen spoon. This stuff is thick - about the consistency of a thick hand cream. Loosely following the label directions that say 1-2 teaspoons, I squeezed out one heaping teaspoon and tried it.The midnight berry flavor was like a very thick smoothie; one without any added liquid. Or like a thick yogurt. A thick overall texture, berry sweet (not candy sweet), and a hint of particles (like pulp in a smoothie). Not at all unpleasant. I even wondered if my heaping teaspoon was enough. [Maybe concentrated is the better word here, instead of thick.]I did not feel like I was drugged to sleep, just drifted off normally. I was completely rested from sleeping soundly through the night. No waking from acid reflux. This was only one night’s evaluation, but the result was clear. From ‘this is going to be a sour night,’ to ‘I slept like a baby.’I have a new addition to my medicine cabinet.

This does seem to help, but it is hard for me to use due to the taste, the texture is something I can see a lot of people not likely, but for me that doesnt matter, the taste does. It is some type of berry taste, but no clue what moreso and just has some type of oddness.

Big fan of the efficacy; on the days when my heartburn medicine doesn't quite work 100%, this helps me to go to sleep without pain. I wish it didn't have melatonin in it; I would like to use it other times as well.

I have only take this one or two times, but it works as advertised, I like that it's a lower dose of melatonin in it because I take other melatonin to, this also settles your stomach and the ingredients are good alginate forms a raft and its a more natural solution to heartburn then other meds that shut down acids that you need to digest food/ fats etc. alginates generally have fewer side effects than PPIs, and ppi's can cause gallstones when taken to much. This has a nice blueberry flavor.

My husband's gastroenterologist recommended Refluxraft to treat his acid reflux and as a way to try to wean off of omeprazole. This is an excellent, highly effective product.The idea is that the alginates in this product react with some of the other ingredients to produce a gel "raft" that floats on top of stomach contents and prevents acid from working its way up the esophagus. The alginates are made from completely harmless algae that is just eventually digested.It's shockingly effective (I tried it too - I also suffer from acid reflux, but his is far more severe). He has already switched from omeprazole to (safer) famitodine every other day, and is planning to continue to decrease his reliance on omeprazole.We've been buying Canadian Gaviscon on ebay (American Gaviscon does not contain any alginates), but this product is available here, which I prefer.My only disappointment with this product is that it contains melatonin and so you should only take it before bedtime. You really need to take a "raft" product after every meal, so we will have to continue purchasing the Gaviscon for the other doses.I'm not sure why this manufacturer is mixing a gastro product with a completely unrelated drug, and I'm kind of disappointed that they have. It's unfortunate, because the product tastes great and really works.

The product is in the form of a very thick jelly which could present a issue for those sensitive to textures, the taste is very good (not too sweet) and the smell is pleasant as well. It is important to note the sodium content especially if you are dealing with high blood pressure. This product advertises lower sodium content then other similar products but could still be a factor from some people. The product did work well for me as it did relieve my symptoms.

I ordered this after reading about the particulars. It not only targets acid reflux with natural ingredients but it does so with a focus on night time and sleep. That was exactly what I was looking for. And best of all, it works. The ingredients work together to prevent the reflux from occurring. The melatonin meanwhile, acts as a relaxer and a sleep agent. It has really been a game changer. The one negative is the taste. It’s not very good. Actually it’s kind of gross. As is the texture. But that’s a small price to pay for all night relief. This has definitely been a big help!
