Great action and feel
Great action. I didn't have to adjust mine at all. Locks securely and flicks open lovely. Sharp as heck. 154CM is a great entry-level steel better than your basic stainless. The aluminum scales feel great - anodized and lightly textured it seems.

Great looking EDC knife
This review is for the Kizer Exist Pocket Knife, (Black Aluminum Handle)This is a really nice little EDC knife from Kizer. I'm not a 'knife geek', but I do have a strong affinity for a good pocketknife and thus have several. I was curious to see how this knife stacked up against those I have from Kershaw and Spyderco. In general, I'll say it does a good job! When opened fully, the Kizer Exist is about 6.5" from knife tip to handle base. The blade is roughly 2.8" and the handle roughly 4". So this knife should be legal to carry in most places. The blade is a cross between a sheepsfoot and drop style, which I like. I'm not a big fan of sheepsfoot but this stretches it out a bit and makes it less blunt. The black aluminum handle is nicely weighted, and the finish is smooth and applied evenly. The deep pocket carry clip can be rotated for right or left-handed carry (or blade in or out, as you prefer). The mechanism for opening is a thumb stud which is very responsive. The lock is an adjustable clutch lock, which I really wish came with some instructions on how to use. This is a crossbar locking system that is somewhat unique to Kizer knives, which allows you to customize it. The action on this knife is very good, but I feel like it might self-release with some heavy shaking (this, along with the lack of instructions, are the reason for my 1-star deduction). I will have to play with the clutch to see if I can get it to close a bit more 'firmly'. This is one area where my Kershaw and Spyderco knives excel. The knife blade is made of 154CM steel. This is actually a really great steel and was once considered one of the best until some of the “super steel” alloys like S30V came along and became popular. This steel is strong, easy to sharpen, takes low angle edge well, and has decent edge retention. According to the BladeHQ steels page, it is a good all-around steel, and scores well in four attributes: edge retention (5/10), toughness (4/10), corrosion resistance (7/10), and ease of sharpening (7/10). The drop point tip of this knife makes cutting and sharpening easy. Out of the box it was VERY sharp and passed the paper cutting and hair-shaving tests with flying colors. I did not notice any imperfections in the grind or the edge. The jimping on the blade gives it some extra slip resistance and control in the hand. It was unique to see jimping as far down on the blade as this knife offers, but it's great if you are using it to open boxes and want to rest a finger across the top of the blade. The Kizer Exist came in a nice box that makes it giftable and included a microfiber cleaning cloth (and stickers that were kind of strange). Kizer provides a lifetime service warranty against defects in material and workmanship. For the price, it's really a nice, high-quality knife that is both affordable and very presentable. I highly recommend it!

The media could not be loaded. Kizer made a James Bond style knife here, It’s very clean and thoughtfully designed. They made an excellent new EDC knife!

Nicely done!
I'm really enjoying how smooth the opening, closing and locking of this knife, and the blade is really sharp out of the box. The black handle is not finger print magnet and has a nicely done flat finish. Even though it's not assisted opening, I found myslef using this more often than my assisten knives. All my Kizer knives are top notch in quality and workmanship so far.
