I can plug in my shop vac and clean out my car across the driveway pretty easily with this. Also, the unit attaches to the garage ceiling (to a wood beam, NOT to the drywall), feels very sturdy, and plugs into a very convenient plug next to the garage door opener. If you don't have an automatic garage door opener, or yours is wired directly without an outlet next to it, you might want to mount this on the wall instead. The small cord for plugging the unit in is only about 1'-1.5' long. It would kind of defeat the purpose if you had to use an extension cord to plug in your extension cord.Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone. It can be a little difficult to install, but once it is mounted, you will love it! But I figured out there are latches on only parts of the reel, so you need to pull until you don't hear the latches, and then it will reel back in. Don't pull it all the way out - it is pretty difficult to reel back in. But so far it is working great! Generally I only extend it 2-3 feet at a time on a regular basis, but once every other week or so I have found the need to have it nearly fully extended. It locks into position at the desired length, and retracts easily when needed.
