Great for soups!
If you are anything like me, you saw "Bone Broth Protein" and your nose turned up a little. But honestly, it's not that bad. I'll explain. This Bone Broth Protein, although it claims to be "unflavored" does have a distinct meaty flavor. Which I guess you could say this protein powder is unflavored because there is no flavor added to cover up that meaty taste, but I digress. Either way, I had to deduct a star because on the back of the packaging it is recommended that you, "Mix 1 scoop with... hot or cold water, milk, or your preferred beverage." When I make a quick protein shake, I always mix my powder with cold water, so I figured I would do the same with this stuff. But oh....my....gosh, It was TERRIBLE. But then I had a bright idea. What if I were to make a soup with this stuff and use it like, oh I don't know, actual bone broth? So that's what I did, and I have to say it made for a very tasty, hearty, and filling soup. So, I think this stuff is great in lieu of buying cartons of broth simply for the fact that it can be easily stored in a pantry without taking up a ton of room. But would I use this stuff as a replacement for my normal chocolate protein shake after a workout? Absolutely not.

Was a reluctant to try at first, but read on please...
I've been on ovolactovegetarian for over 25 years, and added wild caught sea food since over 8 yrs ago. I do little beef, lamb, goat nowadays. This being 4./2025 at this writing. My concern had been for not seeing a GMP or other lab report of the contents in it with all the pollutants being dispersed into the air nowadays.Anyhow, I've decided to use it in meat stew lamb or high quality Texas beef. My recipe would be to use clear vegetable broth of no or low sodium content, and mix a little of this in it before starting up the fire for cooking. So, there you have it...the benefit of bone broth in your pot stew or other favourite cooked food that require liquid such as gravies, and stews or whatever else you might think of. I'd suggest searching online for such recipes if you don't really know how to do this.

Use in food as broth
I wish I did more research before trying out Nutricost Beef Bone Broth Protein Powder Unflavored. I totally assumed unflavored meant tasteless, but it did not. I followed the instructions, mixing it with "beverage of choice" but it tasted bad with water, coffee, and unflavored almond milk. I was able to mask the taste enough to be able to drink it with chocolate powder in milk, or creamer in coffee, but its not ideal as a chocolate flavored protein mix. On the brightside, this powder mixed extremely well leaving no clumps, especially with hot liquids.Overall, I was initially interested in the health benefits, since I'm not big on eating protein especially beef. The zero sugar claims is also an alluring factor, but i needed to add sugary additions to my drink to mask the taste, which ends up countering the zero sugar.

Smells terrible
Can't tell if it works because I couldn't stomach it. True it's tasteless. But if you possess the ability to smell your body won't let you get that far. Imagine rotting cat food growing ripe in a diaper. That's getting close. I'm a grown man, with reasonably strong intestinal fortitude. But almost a week later and I'm still having olfactory flashbacks that leave be gagging for no apparent reason.

Easy way to meet protein goals
LOVE THIS!!!So easy to add protein to soups and can be used as a slight thickening agent as well if your water ratio is right. I find its easiest to not get clumps if you pre mix with a little water before adding to your food.
