Grounding an electrical item is always good pratice. I did not have a ground wire where it was installed to connect the incoming cable feed and split to (6) different locations through the house. Have not had any problems. Been in place for approx 6-months

I don't know but I hook a up to six different TVs and they all receive the same reception.
