Purchased in late 2019.Review in Spring 2021.I love this filter bottle. I live in a town that must contend for the worst tasting tap water ever! I love drinking plain water, so the tap situation has been the bane of my life for years. No more! This filter has actually made the extremely hard water tolerable.The replacement filters are not the cheapest things to buy, but compared to how much plastic it is saving with the use of my bottled water down to zero, that's a trade I can most definitely live with.It was great last year when I had to travel for a funeral just before Covid shut everything down, and my cousin was so impressed by it, I had to prise it from her hands on my return. It survived a car journey of a few days, as well as a ferry crossing, and return, in rough seas.I have found even the silicone mouthpiece easy enough to clean, it requires a bit of a twist to get the silicone top of the mouthpiece off for cleaning, but it hasn't lost any of the flexibility and strength it needs.So far it has been easy enough to detect the gradual decline in performance before I have to swap out the filter. Swapping the filter is easy enough to do. And you could even use the bottle without a filter, but the straw wouldn't reach all the way to the bottom of the bottle, so you'd need to remove the lid completely to drink the water that would be left behind. Failing that, it is a Nalgene bottle, so I would imagine a standard Nalgene wide mouth top would fit okay.I love this enough that I ended up buying the smaller version recently, and that gives me great flexibility if the larger bottle is a bit too much to lug around.

Really pleased with my water bottle and filter. As with all epic water products the standard is really high, but as other people have pointed out the filter will leave about 300 ml ish in the bottle, but i knew this when i purchased, the mistake i made was with the size, you need to buy the giant one to get over 1200 ml of water, i fill mine with filtered water when i leave home and only use the use the filter if i need to fill up when out, will last for ages if you have the benefit of the pitchers at home. Epic water filters are Epic !!!

Hello Nalgene! It's time to write my honest review. I have bought this bottle three times now which means I really like it even if has cost me a fortune, but that is on me. What's not on me is the fact that at nalgenes website most of the bottles and (EVERY TIME I HAVE CHECKED in the past three years) all the replacement filters are out of stock. As a buyer that wants to be conscious and not use Amazon as an online shop for ethical reasons mainly having to do with they way they treat their workers, the only place I can get their filters is from Amazon... They are supposed to have a subscription to Nalgene's website in case you want to order them every three months which makes them cheaper, but how can you do that if they are always sold out????So, I contacted customer service about the issue and also because the first bottle I bought was leaking so it was not really possible to carry it with me in my bag. What did they say?? That they will sent me two replacement water filters as compensation. I emailed them various times in a course of a year and they kept answering: yes of course! We are sorry! We will post it to you in the next three months .Obviously this never happened and I felt I was being mocked really.What a disappointment 😒As an epilogue,it's a great water bottle and hopefully the filter takes out all the nasty things as promised but please be better at the way you treat your customers and DO NOT promise things you won't end up giving. It's infuriating.Cheers 🍻

What is the point in selling a product when you can't buy filters. It's cheaper to buy a new bottle wirh a filter than just the filter......go figure ?
