Absolute Bargain works fantastic
Ordered 26th March delivery date was 19th April but arrived on the 1st April on a pallet by courier (I'm in Northern Ireland) Spent 20 mins building it (I did not fit safety cage as I'm splitting odd shaped rings) I split a full ibc cube of soft wood in 1 hour 30 mins and it split everything with ease this was a mixture of wet and dry logs.Only down point is no adjuster to ram stroke. But I'm delighted with this bargain.

Tale of two halves
Arrived a day early, left out in the pouring rain by the delivery company, even though I was home. No one knocked. Box was destroyed and apart from being sodden it had been dropped numerous times in transit, the bottom of the box was out and two corners open with contents spilling out. This is relevant to the item review. The log splitter was undamaged, despite its ordeal, I was amazed. The quality is really high and its really heavy. Putting it together is a bit fiddly, you'll need circlip pliers for instance and the instructions aren't the best. The listing doesn't say this but the log splitter is already filled with hydraulic fluid. So works as soon as it's assembled. The paperwork with it says that it isn't really designed for seasoned hardwood, that should really be in the listing info. That said it worked fine on the hardwood logs I tested it on. This is a proper bit of kit. I love it.

Poor Instructions. Good Value.
2200W Electric 7-Ton Log SplitterFirst the bad news. The instructions were poor and lacked QC. There is no itemised list of parts / contents which are supposed to be included inside the box; i.e. nothing like what would come inside an IKEA flat pack.Nomenclature of parts do not always match in various diagrams and lists throughout the booklet. E.g. 1. Page 10 talks about the first thing you are mean to fit being “Side Restraints” having, up to now, no reference to a diagram or a photo of them. However on page 28, in the exploded parts diagram and the accompanying “Declaration Of Conformity” on the adjoin page calls this, 41-Left Retaining Plate. (There is no showing of a Right Retaining Plate.)“Fit the Front Handle to the ram, located underneath the front log table ……” This statement and accompanying photo would be correct but my machine came with the crew holes on the upperside, NOT, underneath ! If I did screw the handle here, then it would not be possible to fit the Front Table. However, the handle is shown to be fitted to the upperside in diagrams on page 9 and 21, plus the photo in page 12.The diagram on page 20 is not correct for this model of splitter, nor is the mention of “…. Works under pressure no more than 5 tons”.It was a good thing that I didn’t need the handle because it would also have got in the path of the logs as they are being split.Another piece of potential bad news is the need for circlip pliers. I would suggest that this is not a tool that a typical family tool box would contain. I was fortunate to have a pair as I also do DIY mechanics on our cars.So far, what I am saying is that if you don’t think you are competent handy person, look elsewhere. The Good News.Ordered on a Friday and the splitter on following Monday morning on a pallet. Good thing because it took me several hours to fathom the instructions. I am competent DIY person having served time on desert crews as well as on ships to receive my multi-skilled training. I dare say that if you have used a similar splitter before then you wouldn’t have taken as long to work out what the instructions were saying. The best news is the price. The first foot operated splitter wore out the ratchet. The second had bent its ratchet bar and still could not split some of the large logs the supplier delivered. Online, I found an electro-hydraulic, small, 4 ton model which suited my purpose. However, it was out of stock through the country so I chose this one as the next model further up in price.Originally I wanted a model which sat on the ground such that the operator (me) would not have to do so much bending to pick up next logs. However, all the smaller, 5 ton models which sat on the ground were more expensive. So I bought this one knowing that in time I shall fashion a suitable stand for it. A further word of warning is that in order to assemble the splitter on the included stand, you would probably need to be competent and used to doing similar tasks alone for it heavy at over 50 kg even without the weight of the cage. For the price alone, this is worth a guarded recommendation of 4 stars. At this price, if you have electric supply, you wouldn't be looking at a manual hydraulic splitter as this probably give you faster throughput.

Good value and very powerful.
Used a few times on both fresh cut birch and some that’s been dried. Does the job perfectly. I’m running without the guards but this is my risk and not recommended. Having the stand/legs makes it the perfect working height.

Fantastic piece of kit
Fantastic piece of kit. Easy to assemble. Very robust and 7 ton of splitting force is great. Value for money, this is worth every penny. I was shocked at the low price of this machine, including the stand, so I was a bit sceptical. I need not have worried. After a few days of use, I can highly recommend this machine. Very easy to use.
