Considered getting a cheaper, "squeeze" one from an unknown manufacturer, but glad I plumped for this one. I have got a few of these type of things over the years for within arms reach of my parents. When visiting and using them, I realised how handy they are for everyday life. It makes picking up stuff much easier. It makes reaching in to the tumble dryer much easier. Not having to bend down quite so far and wondering if one will make it back up again, much easier. This is lightweight, has good grip and has no problem with heavy clothes, wet or dry. A good length too. I got the straight not bent handle version. I was concerned that this would make it harder for arthritic hands compared to the "squeeze" types, but actually, it is very light and manageable. Manages to pick up smaller things, e.g. a piece of paper, a dog treat, a piece of lego. Already managed to rescue several abandoned socks and random things from behind a radiator, down that infuriating narrow gap between the chest freezer and the wall, and under the divan bed. Seems very robust and well made. Recommended.

So honestly I wish I bought this years ago. Good design not heavy and clearly made to last. I have several grabbers and this one just shines from the start. I will be buying another when needed as this is such a good grabber. Recommend to anyone

I absolutely love these. I litter pick in the area where I live and found these to be best for the job. Not only are they very sturdy and well made but long enough not to get a back ache. I have picked up objects such as the tiniest piece of paper to a wine bottle half filled with wet mud and a piece of soaking wet carpet (roughly 16 inch square).

Sturdy and so useful for things high up or which have fallen down behind sofas etc. much better than the mechanical type

This 'grabber' is an excellent aid. It relies on the springiness of the bend at the top of the metal construction to operate, rather than a 'trigger and cable' mechanism. This means that this item is easier to use if grip strength is an issue and is very robust.The angle of the handles also helps easy use. The handles are made of a rubber-like, shiny material that permits good grip and the entire tool can be wipes down.In summary, a very useful item to have in the garden or around the house.

Ive tried a few different litter pickers and this is the best in terms of comfort and "pick up abilities". Its quite an outlay but looks like it will last.

Have tried several litter pickers and this is the best type. First of all there are two types of this one, the straight one (mine) and the offset/bent handle. It is down to your own choice which one to have. beware the cheaper type as they have a plastic connector in the handle/trigger that breaks and can not be repaired and so you have to throw the whole thing. I have also had the paracord type one that is good but this is the better one. The rubber grips at the end grip most things from big glass bottles down to cigarette ends. The tips will wear out though, but you can get replacements and easy to replace though I have not had to do mine yet even with bags full of rubbish collected so far.

Buy this - not those 'traditional' litter pickers - it is much sturdier and simply better. Has a strong grip and can fit into tinier areas too.It's really great at pulling out weeds too, saves so much back bending strain.Probably the best thing I brought on Amazon! Highly, highly recommend!
