I've been looking through several safes before landing on this one.The safe looks and feels robust, probably by virtue of its weight.The circle on the left of the panel serves absolutely no purpose beyond lighting up for confirmation and is merely ahestetic.The concealment for the backup power supply is not anchored in place and comes out way too easily: this is honestly the only thing that felt cheap.The manual is absolutely terrible but fortunately setting the code is just a matter of typing the same code followed by the # symbol (and repeat for confirmation) while the safe is open.Batteries (4xAA, alkaline) are included in the package so you are ready to go.The safe comes with 4 screws and can be screwed either on the back or on the bottom. You are supposed to screw it in concrete, so be aware of it. You could screw it in a plasterboard, but a motivated thief would be able to remove it with a hammer so I wouldn't do it unless no other choice is available. Best thing would be to screw it both on the wall AND the pavement using 8 screws. If You're renovating home, you might consider setting up a wall specifically for the installation of a safe.I ended up chosing this safe model and brand after realising that any safe with an override lock can be opened in literally 3 seconds (no joke here, just search for lockpickinglawyer on Youtube) meaning that most safes sold on Amazon (including the Amazon Basics one) are fundamentally useless. This one on the other hand due to the lack of an override cannot be picked meaning that the only other way to break into it is with power tools, investing a significant amount of time. In other words, this is a PROPER safe that will deter almost all thieves, as opposed to almost any other cheap safe I found on Amazon. Add on top a monitored alarm with cameras and you'll have a very secure storage solution.

Product was listed as model 17E but the safe delivered was 15E, it’s the same size & looks exactly the same so no idea what the difference isSeems well made for a cheap safe, the inbuilt siren isn’t very loud but I suppose it’s just a bonusI imagine a determined thief would get into it with a decent angle grinder but it’s bolted in place so should deter the opportunist burglarHopefully!

Completely succinct NOTICE, it doesn't work, I contacted SCHUBB but never got an answer.very bad purchase !!!

The instructions weren't clear and detailed and accurate. To mount the safe to wall raw bolts supplied were at least 80MM. long. The hole in the brick wall 10MM in diameter and 4OMM in depth, where is the remaining 30MM supposed to go??An apparently simple job took rather long time.The safe appears to be well made.

Great safe Terrific customer service and fair price. Recommend without doubt.
