THE BIBLE STORY Ten Volume Set Hardcover – January 1, 1953

I have spent years trying to find ways to order this set of books. I don't know why I didn't think of Amazon.com earlier because this is where I found them. I am glad that I did.. The seller that I got them from, DFARQ sent them very promptly & in great condition. The packaging for this set of books was also of supreme quality. I would recommend thsi set of books to anyone that would like a starter set to the Bible. The true stories of the Bible are very well told & have fantastic illustrations to them that help to not only understand the story better but also keep the interest up for young children, who are the primary ones that these books were written for. I believe that Mr. Arthur S. Maxwell wrote them so that he could tell them to his own Grandchildren just as I paln to do with mine. I would also recommend it to any partents that woule like to introcude their young childfren to God & all of the wonderful things that He has done for us. Especially the gift of His Son so that our relationship with God can be resrtored.These are books that are good to have in every home.;

For a set of books printed in the early 1970s, these were in remarkably good condition. The covers have minor indented scratches, only noticeable upon close examination. Some of the covers had noticeable, but removable mildew. The text pages have aged and show some moisture (humidity) damage. The set has a noticeable mildew smell which is also treatable (and will be treated). This set is a wonderful memory from my childhood. The books were well packaged and boxed for safe and prompt delivery. Written for children to understand the entire Bible: Genesis Through Revelation. Very pleased.

This Bible story books were a gift and came on time. I learned about these books many years ago from my mother in law. These are the best Bible story books I have ever seen. One review said they promote Seventh Day Adventis teachings. I have read these books myself. I would have to disagree with that review. These books simply tell Bible stories. The graphics and stories are very appealing to children.Thank you Buddy's books for trying to make them available to us parents and grand parents.

When I was a young boy, about the only thing fun to do in my great-grandmother's house in the summer was to read her set of Bible Story books. Even more than weekly Sunday School and BTU (that's "Baptist Training Union" in case you didn't know), the time spent with these stories really enabled to get me up close and personal with the Bible.Across the 10-volume set, every narrative "tellable" story in the scriptures is told in a way that would be appealing to children. Clearly, the stories are told from a particular point of view, but they adhere closely to the Bible. The illustrations depict (mostly) White/European/Caucasian faces, but there certainly is diversity—groundbreaking considering that these books were originally written and illustrated 50-60 years ago.I purchased the entire set so that I could sit and read and share stories with my son. Recently, he picked it up on his own, and I'm hoping that he gets as engrossed in the stories as I did when I was his age. I would love to see a "freshening up" of this kind of work, but what some people call "dated" I call "classic," and these story books are still a blessing.

I'D BOUGHT THIS SET FOR MY CHILDREN WHEN THEY WERE LITTLE. I'D RUN INTO A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH AANOTHER SOURCE THAT THEN BROUGHT THESE BACK TO MY ATTENTION. THESE ARE TIMELESS CLASSICS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO YOUNG FAMILIES STARTING OUT.

My wife always talked about these books. Has told stories about how her dad used to read them to her twin and her growing up. He passed away back in 03 and her sister ended up with the books. There was never a fight over them. Her sister teaches Sunday school and my wife wanted her to have them to be able to use. I decided to surprise her and find a set. She was really happy with them and now reads them to our grandchildren. Well worth the investment.

These are the greatest stories to teach children about the life and love of Jesus. Start it when they are young (6+) and as they learn to read they’ll enjoy them. The pictures are done so well. Children love the pictures!

Then books are smaller than the books of my childhood but are still nicely illustrated and wording is similar
