Average
Perfectly drinkable but average coffee. I would have expected something more distinctive in terms of notes. Also the bitterness is not to my taste (is that robusta?).

Wrong Strength Sent
The coffee is pretty good, but I ordered strength 5 and received strength 3. Also, it’s ground too finely for my phin, so falls through the holes.

Strong coffee, perfect as filter coffee in the morning
Brown bear are a go to brand for me. I enjoy a lot of their coffee and was happy to receive this one. It is pre-ground and comes in a kilo bag. Its roast date was recent, allowing me plenty of time to get through it before it starts to degrade in quality. The ground level works best for filter coffee I found. I tried it on my espresso machine but felt it was way too bitter. This is a common issue with pre-ground coffee as you lack control, but for a filter machine this works fine.It produces a very strong coffee which is perfect for a morning cup, however, it wasn't my favorite type from Brown Bear and not particularly something I would try again once finished.

Very Strong Dark Roast - Medium - Fine Grind
This is as advertised. It's a dark roast - in the photo I'm showing it next to some Lavazza Qualita Rossa that I've ground myself for a drip filter machine. The brown bear coffee is slightly darker, and slightly finer. In terms of taste, it's more bitter than the Qualita Rossa, but not acidic, and fairly smooth. It's ideal for use in milky coffee so you still get some bitterness coming through. If you plan to use this in a Cafetiere / French Press I would advise to leave it steeping for no longer than 6 minutes, or it will get acidic and way too bitter. It's on the fine side for a V60 / drip, but is still ok.Coffee taste is very subjective, but if you like coffee on the bitter side, then this will probably appeal. The only thing which is a negative, is that 1kg of ground coffee is a lot to get through quickly enough that it doesn't start losing its flavour.5 stars - I love it4 stars - I like it3 stars - It's ok2 stars - I don't like it1 star - I hate it

If you like your coffee nice and strong, this is the one.
Brilliant! This literally has become my favourite coffee by a good, long way. It's intense, rich and strong in all of the right areas, without being in the slightest bitter or unpleasant. The aroma is huge - it fills the house with delicious coffee aroma the second you start brewing - then it has the strength of flavour to back the smells up.It's not too strong either. Some 'very strong' coffees are full of bitterness and have a burnt taste about them - this really doesn't. It's smooth, yet absolutely packed full of flavour. To think that each time I buy this, I'm helping save and support the bears - I mean, if I wasn't hooked by then, I am now!Excellent quality, great price and doing good deeds. What's not to love?

Strong caffeine, weak flavour
A good morning coffee for its kick, but a bit on the weak side in terms of flavour. It has the bitterness of robusta beans too, which adds to the morning suitability - you wouldn't want to be serving this after dinner.A fine and consistent grind, and works well in my french press.I wouldn't buy again, due to the lack of richness in the flavour.
