Brilliant pump highly recommended
What a fantastic bit of kit, I wish I had found this pump sooner. Cleared our flooded basement completely

Effective, easy to use and install plus as of two months frequent operation reliable.
I bought this pump to replace the sump pump in my cellar which finally failed after many years of service. The Clarke pump works efficiently, it's quieter than my old one and the non return valve is useful feature. The internal float switch can be set activate the pump at three different water levels in addition to a 'constant' run setting.I was less happy that even when on the 'deepest' setting the pump would operate more frequently than was necessary (although it is specified as fully submersible) and in addition continues to run for a further minute after the sump is dry, which is in this application is an unnecessary waste of electricity and potentially shortens the life of the pumpI managed to overcome this by connecting it to a timer set to cut in for one minute at hourly intervals with the pump set to the deepest level setting.Clarke produce 2 power versions of this pump, I chose the cheaper less powerful version, whichis more than adequate to lift the water up a couple of metres from my cellar and drain 5+ Litres in less than a minute

Superb little pump.
I brought this pump to deal with a flooded cellar. The previous day it had taken me 4 hours bailing to empty it. This pump did it in 5 minutes! I had only one problem. Due to the crumbly nature of my cellar there was a large amount of debris in the water so I had to keep cleaning the impeller. This I resolved by placing the whole pump into a filtered sump. It's now a week since and it just sits there, quietly doing its job.Very, very happy.

Doesn’t really work
I bought this to keep an area reasonably dry. It has a switch attached to the side which appears to work when the water bridges two electrodes, switching the pump on. Except it’s not reliable and I’ve found the pump submerged in water several times. I thought it was something I’d done so I bought another…..that didn’t work either so I’ve now got two of them neither of them reliable.I can get the pump to work by removing it from the water, drying the switch then putting it back in but then doesn’t seem very “automatic”. Looking for something more reliable now

This is great for flooeded foundations.
We've had rain/flood water coming into the foundations via the airbricks (which are too low now) and it's spread over a wide area but very shallow. Drill attachment pumps didn't really work. This sits in the under-stairs cupboard under the floor and sucks up the very shallow puddle a bit at a time and runs into a 20mm hose into the garden. I run it for 5 minutes a few times a day (roughly every 2 hours or so) as once I've sucked up the water in the area I'm working in, more will come back very very slowly. It takes it down to practically nothing.I think I could run it all the time and let it suck up small amounts as it always seems to be pumping something out, but I don't want to risk running it dry.If you've got a large shallow puddle - get this and a 20mm flat hose - it'll sort you out. After couple of months it cleared out all the water. It was in the end running in about 1mm of water (if that), for about 30-45 minutes at a time a few times a day when it would cut out (probably due to the lack of water) in the end and it sucked every little drop up. I'd have to re-prime by sticking it a bucket of water every now and then every now and then, but it totally worked and done the job.

A great, compact pump which really is a puddle sucker. Just needs a better sensor
I love the fact that it will remove the water to a very low level. It also takes up much less room than the traditional type of float switch, so it fitted in my small diameter sump easily.I was a bit concerned that the pump continues to run for 3 minutes after it stops pumping. However this is mentioned specifically in the instructions, and the pump is designed with this in mind, so I don't mind this now.I've just bought my third pump of this type. One point which should be in the manual I feel! After some months' use the sensor didn't work properly. I Contacted Customer Services. they told me to clean the contacts on the sensor. I scraped them with my fingernail, then used a toothbrush with some warm water and washing up liquid. It then worked perfectly, I really feel strongly that the contacts should be made of stainless steel. This would ensure that full advantage can be taken of the reliability of these pumps. At the moment they stop working regularly, and don't work again until the sensor has been cleared. This has caused several floods, as I have a wet garden, and really need my pumps to work continuously,
