Impressive Appearance and Performance
There are two aspects of this pen that I find particularly impressive. The first is its appearance. I have other pens with pearlescent orange in the body, but I had never seen anything like this. The black nib, as well as the black clip and trim, add to the elegance. A stepped down segment at the bottom of the pen makes it a fine, if not deep, poster.The next outstanding feature is the nib performance. It’s a stub that writes effortlessly with a nice line width variation. With a little attention to pressure, the nib is even capable of some extreme flex-like effects. Also, the nib has absolutely none of the scratchiness often found with stubs.In short, I have accumulated more than 70 fountain pens over many years, and this Conklin is definitely among the top ranks.
