I like it so far
This is my first shop vac and I've only had it a week but I like it so far. I wanted to get a shop vac to clean my gutters with. This brand has gutter cleaning attachments you can get for that purpose. I had been paying a guy $100 to get on the roof and clean my gutters. He was using a leaf blower. So I thought I could use a shop vac to blow them out. That did work, however it was very messy and I ended up with debris all over me. Next, I tried to just suck the debris out and that worked great. It has plenty of power for that, and I could hear and feel large clumps getting sucked down the hose. The larger hose diameter is good for a job like this. It made cleaning my gutters very easy, and I'll do it this way from now on. The money it will save me has already nearly paid for the shop vac.I'm also doing some kitchen remodeling. I had someone cut away some tile on the floor, and while he was cutting I used the shop vac to suck up the dust so it didn't get out of control. I could visibly see the cloud of dust go directly into the hose as he was cutting. I used the shop vac to clean up all kinds of wood shavings, saw dust, screws and random pieces of debris. Worked great.I've used the shop vac to clean the hardwood floors throughout the house, and I've used it to clean my car. I like that as I move, I can just tug on the hose a little and the vac follows me and rolls smoothly on its wheels. I was concerned that a shop vac would be too loud outside and could disturb my neighbors, but its really not loud at all. About the same volume, maybe even quieter than my regular vacuum. My only issue with using the shop vac is that it triggers my asthma when used indoors and I start wheezing afterwards.

,note the name the Beast
really a quality, heavy duty product, had the craftsman for many years and so far this is outstanding , sucks up the fine beach sand and body putty dust which is very fine

very pleased after 3 years
almost 3 years now and we think it's great. we use it for vacuuming in the unfinished areas of the basement and we use it for water extraction. when we clean the carpet in our boat. the suction is strong for a Shopvac. The top pops off easily and changing the bag or configuring for water extraction only takes me a couple minutes. it rolls well enough with the plastic wheels. it's fairly loud, but I don't have anything to compare it to. if something happens to this one, I would consider buying it again

Great garage Vac,well worth the money.
There are only a couple of things that keep me from giving 5 stars. Overall the Vacuum performs very well and is easy to use. I shopped and compared A LOT before even deciding to get a new shop vacuum and finally choosing the Vac Master. My 20 plus year old Shop-Vac brand was just not working well for the tasks I need a vac in my shop and garage to do. (but it was still running) The most challenging is cleaning up in my machine shop/metal working area to avoid metal chips getting places I definitely don't want swarf from a Lathe or Milling machine to end up. Especially cleaning up the floor well so I am not tracking chips around on my shoes. Plus all the typical tasks like garage clean up, vacuuming out the car, the laundry room and dryer vent etc. I have applied this vacuum to all of those tasks and more in the days since receiving it and it handled everything well. I was honestly impressed with its cleaning ability and it seems to have a good balance between raw suction power and moving a significant volume of air. (both are important but if either is lacking the performance of the vacuum will be lacking as well) It cleaned metal chips and even picked up 3/8 inch hardware and other larger objects unexpectedly without any trouble.I had noticed a smallish percentage of reviews about these vacuums overheating and stopped working when still almost new, so I have used the vacuum every day the last few days since it arrived and cleaned areas of my shop and garage I had not expected to clean, as well as vacuumed out two cars, and used the blower feature a bit as well. At least three different times the unit was on continuously for 30 minutes or longer as well as many more uses of 5 to 20 minutes. It showed no signs of overheating and worked very well the whole time. I actually checked the temperature of the motor housing area after a couple of those longer runs and it never exceeded 95 degrees F. I plan on continuing to give it a good work out and should it fail early I want it within my 30 day return period. I will update this review if that occurs. The built in tool holder slots seem like a good idea but the tools get easily knocked out of them and it becomes easier to not use it. I'll leave all the attachments on the shelf and just grab what I need when using the vac. The hose is a bit stiff and makes it a little unruly to handle, my old vac had a long and very flexible rubber hose that was much more convenient to use. I may just need to get use to the difference. I do wish it had came with a new round dust brush but my old one is OK and fits the new vac hose just fine.Bottom line as long as it lasts at least half as long as my old one, I will be very happy with it I actually kind of wish I had got a new vac sooner.
