Seals as Advertised.
I have purchased these bags multiple times always satisfied. Bags twice this size would be great as l sometimes have trim meat to fit which is not great.

Been buying these for years!
We’ve been buying these vacuum seal bags for years. Nothing beats vacuum sealing and freezing a huge batch of smoked meats for ready-to-go dinners! They work perfect with our sous vide as well. We like the quart size because it holds the perfect amount of food for us. We can easily separate out one pound per bag. I also like the notch they include for easy opening later!

Easy to use and cost effective!
I don’t follow buying all too name brands and I’m glad I bought these. Easy to use and top notch quality. Size is perfect for most steaks and meats but you can also cut them down for smaller packages like single serve vegetables.

Perfectly Functional Vacuum Sealer Bags
I love my FoodSaver 5800 but I do not enjoy paying $500 for their brand of vacuum sealer bags (hyperbole completely justified because, while not hundreds of $$$, they're still way more expensive than Weston...exception: when Costco has the awesome combo pack of bags + rolls on sale for less than $30). As someone that goes through insane amounts of bags on a daily basis (due to frequent sous vide cooking + buying food in bulk and storing in a separate freezer) - I wanted an affordable yet quality substitute and went for these Weston bags as recommended by ChefSteps. While not on the same level of quality as the FoodSaver bags - these definitely get the job done. On the positive side: I've had 0 issues with getting the FoodSaver to recognize the Weston bags, no issues so far with the sealing, and no instances of accidental leaks during sous vide cooking. On the downside, there are 2 reasons I can't give these 5 stars, granted they're relatively minor: 1) No dedicated portion on the bag for labelling (and anyone that uses vacuum sealer bags for freezing/storage will know just how important this is), 2) Doing a side-by-side comparison between Weston and FoodSaver bags, I notice that the Westons feel a tad bit thinner and just a slight lower quality of material - for most cooking applications this is no cause of concern but for heavy bone-in meats or foods going through days long cooking times, it may require double-bagging just to be on the safe side. All in all, these are a great value and I will definitely purchase more in the near future.

Buy Two - These Bags are Sneaky Good!
I didn't think I was a huge vacuum-packer, until I found that I'd somehow used up nearly a whole box of these I'd purchased back in 2012. At that point I experienced a little pang of regret that I hadn't purchased another box, because, well you know, sometimes you can't repurchase the exact same product on Amazon years later, but luckily they are still available.I'd picked up a FoodSaver Pro from Bed Bath and Beyond for a mere $69 on clearance, but of course it came with no bags, just the remnants of a roll inside. I'm not a "roller" I don't like to have to seal and cut my own bags, so I found these on Amazon and started to vacuum pack my way to a full freezer. At any rate I'm so happy I'm getting a chace to re-order these threee years after purchasing them, but am pretty surprised that I managed to use up a box of 100 which I had assumed would last much longer than three years.Time saver tip: these are so strong you can plop one of these right into an immersion (sous vide) cooker right out of the freezer (just marinate or season before freezing)Pros:• Strong, strong strong - these won't puncture or rip, even if there's sharp bones poking the inside of the bag• Perfectly compatible with my Foodsaver pro• You can write on them with a permanent marker to date items• Textture on outside of bag makes handling liquids and raw meat easier before the contents freeze• Will withstand boiling water for cookingCons:• You'll use more of these than you think you will

These bags are a must!
It takes much less time to use these than the roll with two sides to seal. I imagine the bottom seal works better, too. One reviewer said that with the roll using 3 extra inches on BOTH sides, you probably end up paying the same for the bags vs. the roll. I'm inclined to agree. I DO use the roll but for unusual shapes that don't fit in these bags. I put up 1/2 a beef this summer. I found myself reaching for these much more often than anything else. They are of a thicker plastic, seal 100% of the time and have remained sealed. There's enough of a remainder (if you seal at the front edge) to reuse the bag again so definitely worth the price. This particular bag is great and such a better price than the name brand that is labeled to the sealer.Incidentally, since these bags are all the same size with very little margins, I can place 1 to 1 1/2 lb. of hamburger in a bag, mash the hamburger flat, seal, then stack the bags upright (like a book on a shelf) in a metal mesh long rectangular basket that fits on my freezer shelf. I get way more beef in the freezer that way and it doesn't slide around on the shelf. I found the metal mesh basket reasonably cheaply - $7 - so outfitted my entire freezer with the labeled "drawers" that sit on my freezer shelves. Chicken in one, fish in another, hamburger, nuts, cheeses all have their own "drawers." I no longer have to stand in front letting the cold air out while I rummage around looking for something, freezing my fingers. These bags fit perfectly in them.

Thick bags, no tears, easy to vacuum-seal
I had never vacuum-sealed food before, and I'm so glad that the Weston 65-0501-W Professional Advantage Vacuum Sealer, 11" and Weston quart-size bags (100 in a box) were recommended to me. I also saw that this Weston sealer is recommended by America's Test Kitchen. A super easy process! These bags held up perfectly and are easy to remove from the vacuum sealer once sealed. Highly recommended.
