PSE RTS, MINIBURNER

I bought the PSE Mini-burner for my 6 year old son and it has been a fantastic purchase. He is coming from using a 10# recurve so archery is not completely new to him.The bow is light enough that he has no trouble holding it up, which is always a concern with smaller child. It is very easy to adjust draw length and poundage without a bow press, even if you have never adjusted a bow before. Making adjustments in the field takes a matter of seconds as you watch how they pull and shoot. Right now my son is pulling 15lbs and at 10 yards will shoot a consistent group. He needs to be able to pull more weight before we can shoot longer distances.Recommendations: Unless you are using near the maximum draw length you are going to need to get new (or cut) arrows. If your child is pulling sub-20lbs take off all but one pin as they aren't going to be able to hit long distances anyways - why make it more complex than needed. The rest is functional but that is the best I can say about it. Eventually I am probably going to put a whisker biscuit on as I think the current rest significantly slows the arrow speed. Finally stop at your local archery shop and get a peep sight installed to make shooting easier.Minor annoyances: The sights need a Phillips head screwdriver. Virtually every item on a bow uses a hex wrench, which I always carry, but this is an additional tool I need.I think the PSE Mini-Burner is a fantastic and affordable way to introduce a child to compound bows. If you have to look elsewhere you might check out the Diamond Atomic (it is lighter if you are worried about bow weight) but you won't go wrong with the Mini-Burner.Update: It has been more than a year with the bow and my son still loves it. I did change out the rest for a Whisker Biscuit, which drastically improved accuracy. Also the sight, made of plastic, is starting to crack so I will need to replace that soon (the components only have a 1 year warranty, which we exceeded). I still think this is a great youth bow

This is my second Mini Burner for my oldest son age 11. My 7yr old really likes his mini burner and it is very accurate for only set at 10lbs. I changed the rest out for a QAD fall away rest so this helped alot towards increasing accuracy. The quiver was taken off to help his handling of the bow. A 1/8 inch peep sight was also added and I served it in once he was happy with the peep hight in the string. I also set up the center shot for the bow. The draw length is too easy to adjust without using my press and will grow with him for along time. In all I wish this bow was around when I started shooting at age 11.

I bought this bow for my sons 7th birthday. I was impressed with the quality and adjustability of this little bow. My son couldn't be happier now that he has a PSE bow like daddy's only smaller.

This is a great bow for my 13 year old son. However there is no peep sight on it. There is the colored bars but no peep sight on the string to line it up with.

After watching several reviews on the internet, I had high hopes for this bow. PSE did not let me down nor did Amazon. Great product, excellent quality and very good price. My son loves it.

Was concerned when buying for my 11 year old that the bow would be too big or too small I was very pleased to find this bow is extremely adjustable and after a quick read of the instructions found it very easy to adjust. This bow should last him until he is around 16 and I would not hesitate to buy for a child around 8 years old. My son is already making consistent groups and has hit the bullseye many times

Very nice bow. Perfect for kids as they grow. The one I purchased came with a broken arrow. Also the quiver wouldn’t attach to the bow the way it was assembled. I took it to a bow shop and the tech quickly fixed it. I think the sights were installed wrong. The draw length was very easy to adjust to fit my 6 year old.

My 6-year old boy loves it; great Camo pattern; and PSE is simply a very Trustworthy brand.
