good shoes but "new" condition comes muddied up (updated)
my "new" item arrived dirty with spots of mud (?) or what looks like mud on them...anyhow the shoes fit well and are sturdy. they feel like good quality and the price was reasonable. i'm not an expert on hiking boots but my feet felt secure in them and seems to have good traction.they came with an extra pair of laces too! now i'm just trying to decide if i should go through the hassle of returning them for (hopefully) an actual new pair or, if i should just use these since they're bound to get dirty anyway. weird situation to be in though since i thought i was buying a new pair of shoes_______EDIT: Changed my review from 3 stars to 5 due to Seller's response. It was greatly appreciated!

You'll Be Glad You Did!
Everything I want in a hiking boot = lightweight, most definitely waterproof (have had them 6 months and still no wet socks - at all) great tread, fantastic ankle support, high quality boot laces, extremely comfortable. The size 12 1/2 wide - was right on the money. Actually, I have used these as much as a work boot as I have as a hiking boot so, consequently, I have another pair - an exact duplicate of these coming for my Father's Day present. And to 'boot it all' (excuse the pun :-), a spare pair of boot laces came with the boots - a very pleasant surprise! No noticeable wear after six months of daily wear. You'll love them!!!

My honest review
So I bought this around like November last year as a more outsidey shoe for work so I won't have to wear my sneakers in the snow and firstly the comfort was mediocre, I've been walking to work everyday for months so my feet have become a little numb which sort of works in my favor for uncomfortable footwear but if I felt it then I can't imagine what someone with better feet would feel... now in terms of durability it gets 5 stars, it takes almost anything you throw at it especially with the kind of steel toe it has, often with my sneakers I would accidentally hit my feet against steel and it would hurt a lot but not with these.. I hit my feet and dont even feel a thing! Also when its raining my socks would get soaked in my sneakers but these, my socks stay dry in these! I slipped on ice a few times but so be wary of that... and it gets dirty when walking through snow just like any other shoe, easy to clean though.. so would I recommend it? I think a lot of people care about comfort so you might need to get custom insoles like I did but yeah if they had more base comfort i might have used this is my main shoe... well that's my review for you, thanks for reading and I hope I helped atleast someone in their decision!

Yes. Buy them. 100%.
These have been used and abused from woodworking to warehousing parts to a bunch of other stuff-all day, everyday for months. They are comfortable, waterproofing actually works great. I shoveled in snow and spilled random stuff on them a handful of times. The toe isn't steel or composite but it holds up to kicking hard stuff and dropping stuff onto it. I've been through a bunch of footwear and these have and will continue to hold up longer by far as they look like they are lightly used still. Get them instead of boots if you do alot of walking and also work use in warehouse or outdoors, trust me you won't be sorry. I will buy these again for sure when I feel i need to which looks like a long time from now the way it's going.

Amazing Buy!!!
Bought these boots for a Franconia Ridge hike in New Hampshire. I had only one quick 3-mile walk to test them out before the grueling conditions of the ridge, so I was a bit unsure how they'd perform. I'm thrilled to report that these boots kick ass for the cost. I bought a size wide to accommodate thick wool socks, and these boots went the distance. Whether keeping my feet perfectly dry crossing streams, providing ankle support on craggy and unpredictable surfaces, or keeping me steady on slippery inclines and declines, these boots hung tough with every step.Yeah, I wish the tongue was a bit higher and wider, and some eyelets further back on the ankle would be nice, but those are improvements, not problems.I 100% recommend giving these boots a try for rugged, wet-weather wear.

Comfortable with great grip
I bought these specifically for my trip to Utah to visit all five national parks. They were perfect on all terrains. There were times where I thought I could possibly slip, but these shoes have fantastic grip and I never slipped once. Very comfortable, no complaints.

Decent, but aren't my Altima's
So far these are decent boots once figure out the best lace pattern to use with them and which quick lace eyelet at the ankle will be the most comfortable (yes how a boot is laced can make big difference on an uncomfortable boot being comfortable). For me it was an every other eyelet cross over (see pics if don't understand), with the first quick lace eyelet being best for tie off. If I went to the top eyelet it put to much pressure at the ankle bend and made my foot go numb after 10 minutes. As for durability that is yet to be seen as just a few days of use so far. These boots are replacing a pair of Altima Maritime Assault boots that were literally my everyday ware and everything use for over 4 years (have done many deep dives with these boots to depths of 150ft+). Now I'm not going to take these boots diving obviously, but if they last half as long I'll be happy. Now for early pros and cons:Pros:Good flex, not to warm, and lightweightCons:Tongue to short if need to lace to the top, the stitched eyelet at the ankle bend point is a weak spot and should have been a speed lace or enclosed metal eyelet. Finally laces are way too long. One other thing to note is sizing, these boots are based off of "Millitary" size charts not civilian. Will update more on these boots as time goes on

A Hundred Miles and counting...
So I've put over a hundred miles on these boots now, and I have found them to be quite comfortable overall. The toe box, which has always been a problem for me, has proved to be ample. I installed insoles for extra cushioning, as I tend to be hard on them to start with. Good value for price.
