Great alternative
I was a little concerned when these came flattened. Wondering if they were sopposed to be only half the thicknes. But they assumed full size once I soaked them in water for 15 seconds. Yhis obviously to save on packaging, storage size. It's harder to tell by looking at them if they are dirty is the only diffuculty with them. But if they are rinsed every two weks like Fluvel recommends then there will be no problem with them.

compressed and deformed
This seller has vacuum sealed and compressed these filter sponges for shipping. They eventually puff back up after opening the vacuum sealed bag, however, they do not go back to a perfectly rectangular shape which is needed to properly fit in the filter. They took a potentially really good product and turned it into a mediocre product to save a little shipping size. Very disappointing!!!

Good quality
They come vacuum sealed/ compressed but take about a day for air to fill them back up. They’re pretty big
