Repeat Customer!
I've been using these Ziosxin wood wicks since October, 2023. They are great for melting candles. I don't pour oil over them. From my experience, the key seems to be how much of the wick is cut. These wicks do give off a high flame but if cut too low the flame is more of a flicker. Just like with any product you have to figure out what works.I will continue to use these with my candles.

BEAUTIFUL! (Bad reviews aren't using correctly)
I noticed some reviews on here, not using the wick like it's supposed to be used. I have searched for a long time for a thick, consistent wick. This is the one I keep buying because out of every one I've sold, I have only had 2 be hard to light. It could've been the wood itself or my oiling process.I use an organic olive oil to soak a few hours, squeeze excess oil off and lay them out on a towel to dry overnight. These wicks are STURDY! You'll never worry you're breaking them off below the wax line.I pray they keep selling these, they're a dream to work with! Just remember, wood is different to work with than cotton, guys. There's a lot of room for error. You have to prepare the wicks before pouring with them!

Awful
I like making candles at home and had high hopes for these wicks to make larger candles. It took me forever to light and then the wick barely stays lit . Definitely a waste of money. I cant return it because I have already opened and used some wicks. A very disappointing product

First time nervous candle maker and these were perfect!
Definitely read every review on every wick out there. Some reviews made me nervous to use wood wicks but as you learn factors matter just like any recipe and product. So the woman selling these seems to help you figure out what you’re doing wrong if it’s not working and you can write her. I read some people did and did not treat the wood with olive oil and both still had success. For starters, I noticed with her wood wicks, in her description she states between 3-3.5 inch wide vessels/containers are recommended for these wicks. It does melt the wax perfectly. I used the freedom soy wax (wanting to switch to something more environmentally/agriculturally friendly like 100% coconut wax and beeswax..). I used around 10% natural fragrance/essential oils. The trick with wood wicks too is the height you trim them to. I noticed people complaining they don’t stay lit then followed her instructions and trimmed a little more and sure enough that is the case! I thought it already looked short enough but it gets closer and works. I read someone’s review said “cut a triangle”, which basically with scissors you cut diagonally and it’s a triangle and it seems to make that exact measurement part easy. At some level in the diagonal the flame will figure it out, just try to get it as close as possible to the measurement of 5mm. Some say you have to trim off the burnt wood before lighting again. I didn’t need to. I lit my candle 6+ different times, all different timeframes; 4 hours, 2 hours, 1 hour.. all mixed times and no issues relighting except for today it’s at the very bottom, it didn’t stay lit so I trimmed the burnt top off and now it’s lit, even to the metal piece still. As you can see in my pictures. So I think these wicks are great! Just follow those instructions. If I were the owner I’d put these directions clearly organized in one of the images to save her and her customers a lot of explaining. It’s not hard at all, it’s just once you know and learn it’s down hill from there. Oh, and not much crackle, as it’s advertised. It’s got that very quiet wood burn sound sometimes, unlike cotton wicks. But not fireplace status. You have to buy ones with added crackle for that crackle sound. Hope this review saves everyone the hours of reading and worrying I did haha.

Difficult to light
I did have to soak these in oil for them to light. I tried without the oil and they would not light, even when I cut the wick down. I also doubled them up. I used them in soy wax candles for reference. They also do not crackle. Somewhat to cut with a wick cutter. I liked that they came with stickers to adhere the metal holders.

Almost awesome!
Wanted to give 5, but, not sure how I feel about the burning rate overall. One burns, the other with exact same height above candle won’t stay lit. Mostly good! Saved me a ton in candles to buy soy wax and reuse existing candle glass.

Burn every drop of any old candles with these easy stick wicks...Best purchase ever!
When I first opened the package and took out one of the wicks, I was so happy to see that with just a little nudging I could easily slide the wick into the wax of the candle, but when I lit it, nothing! Then I did a little research, and it showed that the wicks needed to be primed with oil, like olive oil. Once I did this, by placing the wick(s) and covering with some olive oil in a resealable freezer bag for about 30 mins to an hour, it seemed like the solution to my decades of saved, half-burnt candles had been found.Note that, it may take a couple of lights to get the wick to burn, but once it starts, it burns longer than any other wick I've ever had. I recommend this product to every candle lover, and I also recommend removing them from the packaging upon receipt and placing in a resealable bag with oil (olive) for storage. Be sure to lightly wipe before placing in your candle and lighting your wick.

They work!
Perfect! Soaked in olive oil and doubled them up. The black debris In the candle is from me trimming the wick while lit so that was my fault.
