Fun and attractive exercises
I wish the title wasn't massive and proclaiming it's for struggling readers. It could be a smaller subtitle. But the exercises will be perfect for my struggling first grade reading intervention students as summer bridge materials.

Great book!
I bought this for my son with ADHD and ODD. He loves math but hates reading. Usually he throws a fit about doing workbooks but he had no problems doing this one! He actually stayed on task and focused while doing it. Awesome book! Thank you!

Brief activities
This book is geared towards grades one through three. It’s a paperback book that focuses on reading concepts through interesting activities for the child. The workbook has color, which I always like. I think it’s not distracting but more engaging. I know that there are different views on this, but for me, I like that it has a little pop of color. We have found the activities brief, which makes them more enjoyable than the longer workbook pages. They are well laid out and provide an excellent overview of reading concepts.

Great workbook for beginning or struggling readers
This workbook has beautiful colored pages. All well printed and easy to read. The book has 4 different color coded sections: Phonics, Sight Words, Sentence Structure, and Reading Comprehension. The pages get more difficult as the child progresses through the book. There is an answer key in the back of the workbook to check your child's work, so if you have a child that is prone to being lazy or cheating, I would suggest either making copies of the pages if you aren't going to be keeping a close eye to make sure they are not cheating or tearing out the answer key.

Makes Reading Fun for Beginner and Intermediate Learners
My daughter is currently in grade 3 and even though her reading skills have improved quite a bit over the last year, I thought I would use this activity book as a refresher and a marker to see what level she is currently at. Phonetic awareness is an essential stepping stone to reading and this book provides helpful and engaging activities that we don't usually see in their school books so it makes learning a little more fun. I look forward to completing all the activities with my 7 year old daughter.

Six year old approved
My son likes working with this book as it makes it fun to read while he is coloring and playing games. It isn't too hard and while he sometimes struggles and gets fatigued he still likes engaging with the book.

Some are a bit challenging (even at the start of the book) for my struggling reader
This is a great tool to use for extra work at home during the school year or even better, a summer workbook to keep on top of skills. Some pages are a bit too challenging yet for my 1st grader but I think he is learning even though he cannot complete them himself. I love the variety and engagement. It makes learning fun!
