Better than Otterbox and Griffin rivals.
I have used both the Griffin Survivor and Otterbox Defender cases on iPads and iPhones for years. I've had a number of models and they are great cases, no doubt. But when I broke the Griffin on my iPad 3 (internal plastic split down one side) I figured it was time to try something else and took a risk on this case which is less than half the price.I am STUNNED at how good this case is, even if you forget the price. It's easily on a par with its Otterbox and Griffin competitors, in fact, I'd say it's BETTER in many ways. Materials and build quality are absolutely top notch. It fits around the device beautifully. In a break from the norm, the front clips on first and then the plastic rear shell clips on afterwards. It actually works well and is a straight forward procedure. The screen lays perfectly flat against the screen without ANY high spots, which can be problem on other cases. The screen protector itself is a shiny variety so still reflects like the actual iPad glass, if you like that sort of thing, whereas the Griffin models tend to be a bit more anti-glare. No rainbow effects visible though and very nice to use. You will get plenty of finger prints though - no way round that. The buttons and covers are all perfectly placed for my iPad 3 and work without any problems at all. The home button is fairly flat so a little harder to find in the dark, but that's being very picky. The camera cut outs are all neat and tidy and don't effect the pictures. The rear speaker is covered but has holes so as not to affect the sound. This case isn't as sealed up as the Griffin but then without the covers for the rear speaker and rear camera its also much more usable. It feels slightly lighter than the Griffin, much slimmer and fits nicely in your hand. It's a pleasure to use.It doesn't have the rear stands that the Griffin and Otterbox have, but frankly I rarely used those anyway.A fantastic case and when you consider the sub-£20 price, it's a complete no-brainer. Buy one, you won't be disappointed.

Full marks
Best protective case we've ever had; we have had no cracked screens or breakages of any kind since getting one of these and the ipad has been dropped a number of times. My brother told me about this product, he has a 4 year old on the austism spectrum and their ipad has been put through the mill stones - often launched and thrown, same result, neither of us have had any annoying replacement screen bills since using it. Have been tested now for well over a year. I will always buy this product now. Buy with 100% confidence. Great product that refreshingly, actually gives what it promises.

A good, protective case spoilt by its weight and comfort for holding for any reasonable length of time.
I bought this case for my iPad 3. I have had a faux leTher case since buying the iPad. The case has kept the iPad in great condition but I always disliked the flap that covers the screen when trying to use the camera.I decided I wanted to try a new case that protected the whole iPad but without a flap covering the screen. This case seemed perfect. It fits well, although the plastic screen cover did not sit flush against the whole screen. There was a small section that had a bump in it. This did not massively affect the touch sensitivity but did not look great. All the port covers were good and closed securely. Unfortunately, those are the good points. In my opinion the negatives outweigh the positives. The main issues are:1. The cover makes the iPad too heavy to hold for any reasonable length of time without it starting to hurt your fingers. Part of this might aSo be down to the case itself.2. The materials used on the back, whilst protective, as slippy. I quite often put my iPad down on the arm of our leather chair. With this case fitted it quite easily slipped off the arm either onto the chair or worst on the floor. It seems it can slip off most surfaces. A major flaw as it causes issues you are trying to avoid.3. The ill fitting plastic screen cover. This is not a show stopped like those above but is a pain.In summary,The case fits reasonably well. It should protect the iPad really well but it adds too much weight to the iPad. That one fact alone has seen me take the case off and go back to my original faux leather case. What a shame. If the weight was reduced and the back made so it does not slip off every surface I'd probably try it again but not in its current version.

Takes everything that's been thrown at it
My son has a learning difficulty and can be quite robust in his use of his iPad, as well as clumsy and likes chewing it...After several cases fared badly - e.g. the Griffin Survivor, which didn't survive at all - I went for this one. It's now over two years old, has put up with everything he could, quite literally, throw at it and the iPad is just fine thanks. It's finally showing signs of needing replacement as his chewing has started to lift one edge a little, which he now fiddles with, exacerbating it. I will definitely buy another to replace it.The one I bought for his brother, as this one was so good, is in perfect order. It has the advantage of not only being more robust than others I've tried, it's cheaper! Proof that a price tag may fool people who have the "buy it cheap, buy it twice" ethos are easily ripped off :-)I highly recommend it

Indestructible but heavy
Currently on a world trip . I pad has taken a right battering but not a scratch on it thanks to this case . It is bulky and it is heavy but it protects the ipad against virtually anything

EVEN WORKS WHEN OUT IN THE RAIN FOR 10 MINS
Bought this as my autistic boy who really relies on his iPad. He destroys the more expensive survivor type covers in no time at all but he finds this one impossible to get off (so far) and it feels very snug and robust. He dropped it form his pushchair a few months ago in quite heavy rain, somehow I didn't notice. I expected to go back and find it ruined but when I finally found it about 10 minutes later, iPad still working fine. AMAZED! Really great cover and can't recommend it highly enough. Saved me a fortune on a new iPad and I would NEVER go back to the survivor ones you see on Amazon, waste of money!
