Q: 2 questions - (1) will this fit a regular US garden hose? (2) what size drill will i need to buy to install it on a rain barrel?

The threaded part that sticks out of the barrel will fit a garden hose. This item is also threaded on the inside if you want to use a regular pipe. I used a one inch spade bit, but had to enlarge the hole a little using a dremmel. If you can find a 1 1/16 inch hole saw it would be perfect. Or 27 mm if you are metric.

Q: I need to use this on a 7/8 inch thick bulkhead for our rv. will this work? will it have enough thread to attach a hose?

Sorry. No. It will only fit 6 mm wall if you are using the male GH Threads. It will fit 20 mm Thickness Wall if you are not using the male GH threads.

Q: Are the internal threads actual tapered npt? or are they straight threads like most of the other chinese junk available on amazon?
