If you already know the basics of mold making and the limitations of silicone, this kit is perfect for you. I think many beginners' big mistakes can be narrowed down to: 1) incorrect mixing (not mixed enough, too much additive, MEASURE BY WEIGHT NOT VOLUME), 2) incorrect temperature (higher temps affect curing and add bubbles), and/or 3) unsuitable master piece (many items have a coating that inhibits curing).I made the mistake of trying to mold an item with another kit without realizing it had a coating from the manufacturer that the silicone did not react well with. Lesson learned. I use acrylic blanks now and every mold has come out perfectly.I really like the adjustable housing! Easy to put together, tight fitting pieces with the included clips.The only thing that makes mixing tricky is it's nearly impossible to tell if you've mixed it enough. So mix mix mix, scrape the sides and bottom, mix mix mix, scrape scrape, mix mix. When you think you've mixed enough, mix it a bit longer. This silicone cures semi-translucent, so if you want to add color you can. I used a couple micas in the molds pictured and they blended in beautifully with no adverse effect to curing.The instructions that are included are incredibly helpful even if you already know the basics. Be sure you read and understand them before doing anything and your molds should come out fantastic!

Product worked amazingly however a word to the wise. If you think you’re ordering enough.. you’re not. Always order 2-3x more than you expect to use. This is what I thought should have been enough with some left over. But it wasn’t. Was left in a pinch and had to buy some overpriced hobby lobby stuff that was only $4 less and a fraction of what I got from less resin. As you can see in the photo. It’s thick, stretchy, and sturdy. Can’t speak for the detail yet. Decent value. Nonsticky once cured.

Silicon product and the mold form work very well. I watched several on line videos on creating molds, read the reviews here carefully and the instructions provided before I tried making my first mold. I stirred the product well for a full five minutes. Refrigerated it shortly to slow down the cure time and ensure more complete degassing. I placed the clips as close to the bottom of the mold form as possible and used packing tape to seal the bottom which helped to hold down my masters and ensure no leaks. I ended up with a great mold with no bubbles and incredible detail.

Well. It worked.

This is easy to use. I haven't used the frame yet, so I don't know how well that works but the rest are good.

This is probably ok with a one piece mold but no good for a 2 part mold..Its not sturdy enough to hold both halves without distorting and ruining the piece...I also do not care for the fact the mold stays tacky, good for picking up crumbs off the keyboard but not so much for a mold...I'll stay with Smooth On oomoo series... The one positive I will give this kit is the mold form, that is handy and works very well, easier than using lego blocks.

I had to make a mold for a project I was working on. I did a little bit of research on silicone and this one is what I landed on. The quality for this set is good! I poured into the mold and 24 hours later removing from the mold was easy! Upon inspection I didn't have any air bubbles! I have used the silicone mold and it has functioned as expected!
