Very nice for the price
The sword is a really great deal for the price. I wasnt expecting much when I ordered, but the sword was sharp, and nicely polished with a good hamon. The handle feels solid and the wrap is nice and tight. Its really hard to beat for the price.

Looks and feels great
This was my first purchase I made from Amazon and was super excited when it was delivered. Everything about it met or exceeded my expectations until I noticed that the blade was not aligned straight with the tsuka. The replacement was quick and painless though. They shipped and I received a new one before I even had a chance to return the original. Out of my collection of katana, I call this one "the Boss" because it's blade is a fraction thicker and the tsuka-ito is also a little thicker in my palm. The overall feel is just a little more than my others. The weird thing is they all weigh exactly the same. This is also the least expensive in my collection but it's also one of my favorites. For the price you can't afford not to buy one. It is very well built and a very beautiful and fully functional piece of art.

Nice, And As Advertized
Honesty in marketing is very important to me, and this company did not disappoint; it is exactly as advertized. I'm no expert on Samurai swords, even though I'm proficient in their use. This one certainly seems to be the genuine article, capturing the feel and essence of ancient Japanese tradition. The sword is sturdy and elegantly attractive. From the first time you hold it in your hands there's a sense of, "Wow, this is the real deal". Construction is carefully thought out, effective, well made and beautiful. The edge is acceptable as a product for public sale. Every blade I obtain (many), requires my own personal razor-edge sharpening, just like dad taught me. Sorry I have no pic for this one; my camera was stolen yesterday.

Pleasantly Surprised
I started off a little hesitant because so many reviews stated that it came rather dull. Well, mine didn’t. For what you pay for this sword, you really get a lot. The Hamon literally jumps out at you. Very impressive blade The fittings were really well done which brings me to my one criticism, the Ito and Same’. The add states that these are real silk and real ray skin. I’m no expert, but in my opinion, NO! The Ito look’s definitely like cotton and the Same’ looks and feels like plastic. That aside, you still get one hell of a sword.Everything is tight and sturdy, the blade came sharp, and the Saya fits beautifully with absolutely no Saya rattle. The overall package is something you can be proud of. Haven’t done any cutting, but I believe it will hold up quite well. It was only a $140, but I believe you’re getting much more in value. I’m glad I took a chance. I gave it 4 stars because of my feelings about the Ito and Same’. If I’m wrong it’s a 5.

I find no fault
I am new to swords, but not knives. This is my third sword. I got interested in katanas and feel I did a pretty good amount of research. The first one I bought was a less expensive Cold Steal katana, which I think is quite good for the money. I decide from that sword that I would like to own a "nice katana". I got a $500 katana. It was nice, but it was heavy, and it felt unbalanced. Ultimately, I felt disappointed with it because I wasn't inspired to practice with it because of the lack of balance. Ended up returning that one and tried again with this sword. It feels great in my hand. The weight is good, the balance is good, everything feels tight. The decorative touches are very nice, and I'm happy that it is T10. T-10 was one of the criteria that I was looking for. The Hubaki, or blade collar on mine is a tiny bit scuffed with a black streak. I don't care about that. The blade itself is very beautiful, i do wish the saya, or scabbard, came with a bone fitting at the top to keep the wood from deforming over time, but not a huge deal. I think this sword offers a great deal for the money. $129 is way better than $489 for the one I returned. If your interested, I say go for it. Thanks Fresh speed.

This is the real deal.
I did a bit of light research into what kind of metal to look for in a"battle ready" usable sword and came down to either a high carbon spring steel or t10 tool grade steel as nearly equally sturdy blades. When i found this one for this price, I did not believe the specs, but it came with the Amazon return refund policy. I ordered this, and I do not have any regrets. This is a stunning full tang genuine clay treated t10 steel blade. I have been swinging it around for several days and done some yard work level chopping, and this thing holds strong. First of all, it comes razor sharp so watch out haha. There is no give, wiggle or rattle to the blade what so ever. Absolutely worth the $119 I paid for it. Beautiful and fully functional.

Better than expected!
Price was great and the quality is outstanding! I would purchase this item again, in a heartbeat. Should also mention this part! My sword arrived VERY well packed and protected and is VERY VERY SHARP! So be very careful removing this from the shipping container. If not would be a trip to urgent care to get some stitches for sure.

Nice addition
Looks well crafted and display quality. Handling it is surprisingly light weight compared to others I've owned and practiced with. Edge is sharp. Has a very slight bit of play (almost unnoticeable unless you're used to swinging these around of varying quality of craftsmanship). Is balanced well for circular maneuvers. For precision techniques, the lighter weight of it, (if you trained on heavier blades) takes some accommodation in technique. I have yet to test cutting, slightly hesitant because if it is a knock off, that's an easy way to earn a trip to the hospital. The light weight of it is what arouses suspicion in quality steel. It's at the middle point between being spring steel (technique practice only- no cutting) and a heavy combat blade. Eventually I'll get around to performing a hardness test (this puts a minor indent on the edge of the blade for microscopic view of composition and folded layers). Upon those results I'll update review for those interested in cutting application.
