Very good switch and knob with one small modification
Sorry for the long review but it's really two reviews in one.I'm putting this review up for both the switch (Fender 250K Solid Shaft S-1 Control Switch) and the knob (Fender Telecaster-Precision Bass S-1 Switch Knob Assembly). You can't use the switch without the knob so I can't figure out why these are separate items. This switch (solid shaft) is not designed for Stratocasters unless, of course, you use Telecaster style knobs on your Stratocaster. I am using this for a series/parallel switch for a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails Telecaster bridge pickup and a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails Stratocaster neck pickup in a guitar I just made (see photo, S-1 is used for the tone control). Before I even received the switch I mocked up a wiring diagram (see photo). Series/parallel works well for the Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickups. I haven't tried it on full sized humbuckers but I am going to test it on a StagMag soon. The S1 pot works just as well as any CTS pot I've used. I checked the resistance on an ohm meter and it went from 0 to 256K, which is closer to 250K than I've found on any CTS pot. The switch works as advertised and it is very well built. Instead of trying to solder everything to the switch I added some 1 inch wires from 4 of the 12 connections then connected the pickups and grounds (with the exception of the red and white wires) to the short wires. Please note that the diagram is only good for Seymour Duncan pickups but it shouldn't be hard to translate to other brands with different lead wire colors. Now, on to the one small modification - the plunger on the switch knob assembly comes with a small plastic tube. The idea is to slip this on the end of the plunger and then insert the plunger and tube through the knob, into the shaft of the switch, and then it will slip onto a small shaft in the switch so that the plunger won't fall off. Good idea. Unfortunately, once the plastic tube is pushed onto the plunger shaft and onto the small shaft in the switch, the external diameter of the plastic tube expands and becomes too large to function. That is, it gets stuck in the switch shaft (it took me a while to get it out when I tried it the first time). To see if you will have the same problem, put the plastic tube on the plunger shaft and try to fit it into the shaft. If it gets tight when the plunger shaft reaches the switch shaft don't force it. The solution is to place the tube over the end of the plunger shaft and then use small files and/or sand paper to decrease the external diameter of the tube. It doesn't take a lot of sanding to get it to fit properly. Once you've slimmed it down a bit it will work perfectly. So, great switch, really handy for switching two pickups at once (series/parallel, coil split, or other), well made, delivered promptly. What's not to like.

Works as it should
Have 2 of these installed in a special strat with active circuitry and the switches work well with no overly obvious clicking in the output pathway. The only thing I think could be better might actually be something I can fix myself...there seems to be a little slop in the play of the button. My Tele came with one from the factory and it sits square at the top of the knob with no slop, the ones I installed sit a little lower due to slack. Still love these switches though, they get a lot of negative review from players but are a really nice idea when adding switches when you don't want to ruin the overall look of your instrument with additional toggles.

Works for my 2017 Tele Elite
A year and a half after playing my go to guitar 2017 telecaster elite, my volume knob fell off lost it at a show. Couldn’t figure out really how to buy this one because it has the S1 push switch on it. Many sites only offer the actual knob and the pushbutton part of it sold separately. This is the item you want to buy for that exact use comes with knob as well as that push switch. I will say when the S1 button is not engaged i.e. you don’t push it in, it sticks out slightly more than the length of the knob itself. For me that’s no big deal this gets the job done.
