No, the Fossil Sydney Satchel would not fit an average sized textbook.

Q: I do not see the signature Fossil key on this one. Did your bag come with the key?

The ones fulfilled by Zappos (wine/green) are authentic Fossil (come with key); the ones fulfilled by others (incl. camel) are similar but not authentic (do not come with key/are slightly smaller in size/different leather). I know because I ordered one from each company and returned the non-authentic one.

Q: Is the Heritage blue suppose to be black? It looks black in the pictures.

The Sydney Satchel in Heritage Blue is a dark, navy blue color.

Q: In order to get items out of purse do the zippers have to be completely opened down the sides?

No, the purse does not have to be completely opened to get items out.
